how difficult is it to find a cool roomie

I want to rent a big spacious two BR apartment but I need to find a cool partner to share the apartment who has no objections to me smoking and also of a compatible intellect. Do I put an ad and interview them and where do you think best to advertise. I have no reservations about colour, nationality, religion or any other thing.
