By black_wolf

Nowadays every body knows that MBA (Master of Business Administration) is one of the most important certificate in our current business.

Therefore I’m planning to start my MBA as soon as possible but the problem that till now I couldn't decide which university is the best.

I think getting MBA online is better than getting it through the Qatari Universities since it's too expensive

I need your help here to know what is the best & Cheapest university which is providing MBA online ?
and what about the rates if i want to get it through the Qatari Universities?

Hi,Whats update? have you already finished your MBA? Which University?

Rezy,

Universities include University of Wales and Leicester University, both are recognized and well known, however, their MBA is not accredited by the international bodies such as the AACSB. Nevertheless, the course is good in general and you will learn only if you want to and you find the time and courage for a self study course. There is no real monitoring in terms of weekly study schedule, but there are some assignments that count into the course marks.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thanks

I have enrolled with Stafford.ae and I found them the most reasonable and the lowest cost. Unless you wanna join indian online university such as the IGOU or Annamalai through Advanced Computer Centre, then this option is really cheap.

to be honest,i didn't go thru the schools listed there.just read thro the description of each stream of MBA to decide what i wanted.

saggi, i don't really trust these guide to online schools sites type of thing. When checked against the rankings and accreditations, these universities don't fare.

dyn, thanks for clarifying FT. this is the link given to us by logics earlier. it becomes a bit clearer now which universities offer quality online MBA studies, but the cost remains a concern... (except for rezymalik :(

good luck, saggi, do let me know if you decide to push through.

sure i will...i am seriously considering it and will surely post on QL if i come across something interesting.i was contemplating on choosing either 'Information Systems' or 'International Business'...depends on what the university i finally zero in on has to offer me.

true, and if you find something really wrong checkin out, do post it here. there seems to be a quite a good number interested but like you and me and rezymalik, dont know where to start.

we'll get there somehow.

by the way, is there a specific area of concentration in MBA you are eyeing on?

thanks a lot,om maui!that was real help indeed.i did check out the University of Massachusetts and their online program...but they too offer no real-time interactions from what their wesite says.guess i'll just have to do a bit more of my home-work before i actually decide to pour in my money someplace :-/

saggi, some online MBAs do have requirements to have such discussions and interactions live on the net. i guess, some online MBAs will become just a name on your CV, but not an intellectual gain, if the university is not a good one. hence, our continued struggle to seek opinions, and suggestions from QLers, to make sure we go to the right one.

i think the best is what Britexpat mentioned. go for an accredited university. earlier in the thread, logics posted a link to see accredited universities. he did also say that accredited universities tend to be expensive.

is it worth the trouble? i'd say yes. education is something no one can steal from you.

does that help? :)

if one of our readers had gone through an online masters, i hope they would share their experiences. Please!

i was planning of doing an MBA program but a few people told me that unless I actually attend classes,it'll not do me any good.okay i may have a degree to my name but if it's personal and professional enhancement that i'm seeking, then online MBAs aren't any good.i guess they were referring to the seminars and group discussions during full-time MBA classes.i can't go for full-time classes coz i'm working and so an online MBA is THE only option.but if it's not worth it,then why the trouble?

i really don't know what to do :-S

Washigton International MBA is not worth the paper its printed on..

If you are serious, go for an accredited University. If you just want the paper, then buy one from the internet..

unfortunately rezymalik, there is only Qatar University that offers MBA in Qatar. i believe there is an option to study full time or part time, and yes, by saying part time means afternoon or evening classes.

there is also the Institute of Professional Managers here in Qatar that offers a mini-MBA (whatever that means!). you can google it for their contact details. the site is in arabic, i think.

good luck. as for me, i'm going to continue looking for a good online university. i'm not a structured learner.

thanks for the tip, mandi. maybe it is wise to ensure that the university is accredited by some reputable accrediting body.

it would be so helpful if there are readers from the europe or US to share some information on which accrediting body is reliable and reputable. not everything in the net is true :(

take it easy, rezymalik. searching for a university is like searching for a flat -- it takes up a lot of energy. but never give up.

correction, Edinburgh is not accredited.

now i have to think about accreditation versus cost. definitely accredited university means expensive. last time i checked, University of Liverpool offers MBA in HR for 13,000 euros for a stretch of 40+ months. it will roughly be about 2,000+ riyals per month. is that ideal, or isn't that too much?

oh come on, don't give up already! i beg to differ, there's university of liverpool, manchester business school, Edinburgh is British... they do offer online courses, keep looking.

the three univ/schools i mentioned are accredited, based on that link that logics gave us.

rezymalik, if you check the websites of these suggested universities, you would find a link to their admissions counselor, who would ask for your CV and certificates, and from there, they will assess if you're qualified for an MBA with them.

it's great that money is not an issue. do you prefer American univ or British univ?

I've done a little bit of searching myself, since i want to get a master's degree in HR.

Ghina, Qatar university does offer an MBA. check out their Graduate programs.

FS, have you tried Washington international?

You are looking for an MBA, this means you have to study core business subjects then pick the electives you like, all MBAs will have core focus on business topics and then a selection of electives depending on your focus area and you will need to do some research

check this link it should give you an idea from where to start your search

You need to check with the Business School what is their criteria for accepting MBA students

The most important thing that you need to check is from where is the business school accredited

AMBA and EQUIS are examples of accrediting bodies

Financial Times MBA ranking is also a good reference for top schools

(2) Business School Accreditation - There are lots of schools that are not accredit

(3) Focus of your MBA, i.e. marketing, HR ..etc

(4) Which school provide Distance Learning

Of course the higher the ranking of the school the more expensive it is

Check Bradford and Edinburg business schools they are not very expensive
