How to go home without exit permit

kapalic
By kapalic

My sponsor is not willing to give me exit permit in the fear of my not return. I am about 3 years at Qatar, and I want to go home on a vacation before Eid. Is there any way to go home without the exit permit from sponsor? I want to go home before Eid, no matter what does it cost, even cancellation of my visa.

Thank you for your advice.

the labour department will take action to his sponser, may be some wrong with the person and sponser. that he hide to talk with public

Well, even people with multiple exit re -entry visas can not take vacation when ever they want. It has to be approved too. And if the work load is too heavy, they will be asked to stay. nothing unusual with that. Plus, usually people with families, children etc. are favoured...as they can only go if the kids are on holiday.

Plus, asking for vacation a few day before one wants to go during a popular holiday usually does not work.

and why would your sponsor be suspicious about you not coming back?

Feeling sick. Seems like they can do anything with their employees because they are the "Sponsor"!

i think you should tomorrow first thing in the morning go to the labour dept with your contract, and see what happens, other wise you will have to wait for eid to finish.

This is a good sign to stop working for your boss.Unless he pays you well.

It should be quite quick as your employer is 100% in the wrong. But nothing will start before EID finishes, so you will not be home for EID for sure. It can take a few months.

it is better to take the contract and go to labour department.

Your boss won't let you go, or may be he is doing this to save the money for the ticket.....

Pay him NOTHING to leave! You have done your initial 2 years, after which you are entitled to leave on a holiday. Those 2 years are the time during which, if you resign, you need to pay costs back. You are in the second contract - nothing needs to be paid to him. Also no certificates, nothing! He has no right to take anything of you to 'blackmail' you into coming back. It is your own decision what you do - and he is not your jailer!

Or better take only one cloth with yourself and leave behind all your luggages in ur FLAT/VILLA..And yes, do tell your boss to be with you at the time of packing your bag and tell him to drop you even at airport....:)))))

You will only make it home before Eid if you can agree to your travels. Tell him you are entitled to a ticket and holiday leave after 2 years, which they did not give you. Take a copy (not the original as they might take it off you) of your contract with you and tell him if he does not provide you with holidays that you will enter the case with the Labour Department which will ALWAYS rule in your favour as the agreed is in the contract. That should shut your boss up!

Traveling is written every two years, which is finished last December. We renewed the contract, which is valid for another 2 years.

in Qatar, as far as I am aware, you are allowed paid vacation either 1 time a year or in some cases 1 time every two years, including an airticket provided by your employer.

What your employer is doing is illegal. Get your contract, show him the small print and if he persists tell him you will be going to the Human Rights department and the MInistry of Labour.

Written 6,000 riyal salary, accommodation, ticket will be provided by my company. The paper is not with me right now, but I can give.

I am in charge of several project of the company. Thats why he is not willing to let me go - not even for 2 weeks - until all the projects are finished. May be those will not be finished in another one or two years. Feeling like hostage!

Mana, not everybody needs exit permit. If you have multiple entry visa there is no need for exit permit. Most people unfortunately do need exit permit. It's like keeping somebody hostage... sad but true.

You have 7 days... You left it a bit late to resign, no? If you are due to go home they have to give you a ticket. If not, then go to the Labour Department and report him.

If so then resign and leave. Or else convince your sponsor that you would be back. If here on work visa, One can't leave the country without exit permit. No other way.
