I'm contented with my salary, otherwise I wouldn't have signed the contract, would I? The situation might be different after my current contract ends though.

I love my job and I have a very good salary. I get paid roughly 45,000 riyals a month. The work week is supposed to be 48 hours and yes i'm in my office sunday thru thursday but i actually only work maybe 1-3 hours a week. I have every friday and saturday off and if there is a american holiday i sometimes have 3 or 4 days off in a week and still get paid for it. I don't think i'm leaving doha anytime soon.

PM, aren't Americans exempt from income taxes if they make less than USD80,000?

For Canadians, the government likes to think up new ways to tax us.  We already pay 45% in taxes (30% income tax & 15% sales tax).  This tax money is used to fund useless social programs.  The government is so embarrassed about these programs that they won't admit how much they spend in these programs.  As you can see, I'm right-leaning.

In the 4 years working in Qatar, I'm overpaid and under-worked.  My salary is much higher than the industry average for this line of work (adult language instruction).  I'm not complaining but am grateful that God has blessed my family for four years.  My classroom time:  20 hours per week.  Double that with planning, preparing, and committee work but still, I think, it's underworked.

dw was telling me about the Koreans toiling in Ras Laffan for 16 hours a DAY (not a cushy per week) and making next to nothing.  So...I can't complain about getting my cake and eating it too!

dw may feel like Alexa about her "salary".

Working time is like crazy...why do they break for noon?

What is the point of the afternoon break? It doesnt make any sense to me.

Do people like to sleep for 1 hour in the afternoon and then getup and

come back to the office to work?

Then why dont they come back to the office after dinner?
