...on the message boards, as I'm gettin' tired of my usual Irc symbols and some people can't seem to understand what my symbols turned sideways are.

I prefer the smilies or emoticons rather than the signatures.
I've been to IMDb and smilies are fine in one of the most popular movie info on the planet...
...all you need is lessen the color and ads and picture signatures rather than the smilies...

looks more professional this way ... adding those smiley faces and other stuff made it look like if we are in a Chat website or a forum where people do discuss anything ...
