Park in the footpath not only happening in Qatar. As you see on the photos ... these car parks one after the other in the footpath. And this taken in the UK. :-)
So not only people in ME / Qatar are ignorant, people in the west does the same too.
Just remembered something. When I was 18, I was driving along and hit and broke a litter bin on the side of the road. The reason? There was a HUGE spider in the car. I then left the car in the road, ran home and made my dad collect the car and look for the spider. I have grown up a bit since then but it really was a big spider!
my father in law car crashed by another car, and lucky nobody in it, it was parked outside their house. The reason of the other party : the sun blinding his eyes?
Unlike you jasmine ... this guy responsible to it and the insurance paying my father in law to get similar car.
My car was flattened by a woman reversing in a 4x4 when I lived in the UK. She got away with it because she said "the parking censor was broken" I lost my no claims and had to pay the 300 pounds excess. Her car was undamaged, in fact she had not realised she had done it and drove off. Luckily there were witnesses. My puma had to have a new bonnet and 2 wings. Maybe I'll get a Hummer when I get home and look out for her BMW 4x4!! (If I could afford the petrol and tax)
I got a brand new peugeot 407... The first signal i stopped at, i got hit from behind...And my friend who was with me swears that the driver switched seats... so i'm guessing the person who hit me did'nt have a liscence... Being hit before the dial says 5 miles... kinda makes u feel all warm n fuzzy inside doesnt it...
I never heard that in the UK are acceptable to park in the footpath. Probably they just passing in the new law that now people allow to park in the footpath in certain events.
i agree with you ... Everytime we travelling abroad ... very seldom we see accidents. Eventhough we back to my 3 rd world home country ... we wont an accident/s as many as here.
our last trip ... as soon as you come out from Doha Airport ... jumped into the accident ... voila !!! you saw a bump in Toyota Traffic Light, you not even landed more than 24 hrs yet. lol
i wonder what is like in other middle east country? People said driving in Egypt is bad ... bad then again i cant comment because i never been there.
...that looks to be either a Hospital or a Sporting event, both occasions being perfectly acceptable to find any spot available. We aren't talking about stopping major traffic or taking out a couple of pedestrians for a glass of Leban or the New Mighty Fish Zinger.
...everywhere in the world. On the other hand, no other place I've been, has so many crazy, dangerous drivers. I don't have any statistics to back that up. Just my impressions.
I've been driving for over 30 years. I drive here every day and most days, I see things that only luck has prevented.
Yes, these same things happen elsewhere but, in my opinion, not as often as here.

But I really really hate it when people spit... and that seems quite a copious past time here!
Yuk - really disgusting.

There are even bigger eccentrics in the west compared to those in Qatar,
