iPhone Threads

I've tried to search but I'm too lazy so I'm making a new one.

I have an iPhone, it's brand new but before I could even enjoy it, it's already messed up. I can barely hear from the earpiece...and it's driving me nuts!

Does anyone knows any place who fixes iPhones? By "fix", I mean make it work again not make it worse...

In case you haven't heard! Otherwise people wouldn't be struggling in asking questions about getting it fixed! Will you just stop commenting if you don't have anything sensible to say.

You'll need to open it up then and make sure there is no moisture. Go onto youtube and search for a video on how to open it up.

You can also find my quick tutorial with ziphone there.

you may want to follow those jinkz, its very easy. Don't pay for repair when you can do it for free.

...someone poured beer on it, so it really needs fixing...like opening it up and check if something went wrong on the earpiece speaker. I just don't know if it has always been that way because before the beer, i didn't even get the chance to use it on a phone call yet. :-(

If you don't have the latest firmware, then you can do the following, even Grand mother Can do it.(I got the recipe for this upgrade from a friend which found it on internet and it works)

1. Download Ziphone (a program from Internet) http://www.ziphone.org/

2. Backup your iPhone thru itunes

3. use the Restore function in iTunes to upgrade your phone to 1.1.4

4.it will take a while, but eventually once the package is downloaded, extracted and installed your phone will reboot several times and come up with the ‘Emergency Calls Only’ screen

5.shut iTunes – leave iphone plugged in

6.Go to Task Manager (Windows) or activity Manager (mac) and find and kill all iTunes related processes (iTunes Helper and maybe several others in Windoze – anything starting with iTunes)

7. start up ZiPhone

8. select ‘Do it all’ option and press start – you’ll see the iPhone go into recovery mode and then scrolling pages of instructions and code - normal

9.wait 4 minutes and you are done

10.exit ZiPhone – restart iTunes

11.restore contacts etc from iPhone Backup –

12. connect to WiFi(or GPRS if you got it)and go to installer to reinstall any apps you had – you will have lost them.

Some people do leave the plastic which blocks the earpiece.

Anyway, if there is nothing blocking it, it's quite simple

1) Update your firmware then use ziphone to unlock it

2) take a small pin and press the ear piece in gently through the little grail. Sometimes it's a bit loose.
