Irresponsible medical staff
I am working in Qatar for a long time. I never had any complaints about the medical care being offered to patients, regardless of their nationalities, at the hospitals in Qatar until my recent visit to the dental department of Hamad Medical Corporation. I have had some bitter experience with some of the responsible (irresponsible) staff at the dental department of Rumaillah Hospital and Dental OPD Annex. They were arrogant, unprofessional and in simple terms, a disgrace to Hamad Medical Corporation and health service in Qatar. They seem to have forgotten the ethics and oath of medical profession. Concerned officials should intervene and conduct an impartial inquiry so that patients are given quality medical care with a friendly smile.
When I gave birth there in January ... absolutely no way was my husband allowed in, or near the delivery room. He had to wait in a cold portacabin as the main waiting area was being renovated. He managed to give me a quick kiss before I was taken to delivery (he had followed me in an ambulance for 45 mins drive to hospital)
Even my female friend had to leave the room. When she was allowed back in AFTER the delivery, she took a photo of me ... (as baby was taken away straight after delivery) my friend was quickly and firmly told off and told no photos are allowed. I did not see my baby until 1 and a half hours after the birth. I found out there was no complications, it was unfortunate and must have been due to the fact I gave birth at 5.30am and change of shift was happening. Luckily this was my fourth child ... but it certainly was not a pleasant care experience at all. Still makes me angry when I think of it.
My husband could only see the baby and me when we went to our ward room. He was there waiting.
On the upside, we booked a private room and it was brilliant. Highly recommend it, it's huge .. just like a hotel room. The nurses were really nice too, lots of lovey caring Filipino's. I just thought the labour ward was AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL and not concerned with the mothers wishes. Very, you are a number.
can you tell me more about your experiences at hamad?
i am very interested in hearing your story
Which is why in 10 Years I've only been to Hamad for emergencies or to witness the birth of my kids.
