is it TOO HOT on Qatar Airways while boarding

zZing
By zZing

kind of fed up with the hot temperature on almost every Qatar Airways flight while boarding. especially on the short flight.

The boarding ladder to the cabin gate has no shade. Extreme hot air just blow into the cabin. Even warm wind from AC.

the quality of Qatar Airways is going down.

I've been on worse airlines. Flyglobespan being the worst. They advertise paninis...but turns out they are frozen!

By Andeee• 19 Aug 2009 12:06

What that got to do with the airline... its not their fault if the airport does not have air bridges and they still use the steps to board the plane... Of course its gonna be hot cause last time I checked the steps were outside the plane and the door is open so yeah you will feel uncomfortable for some time....

Whinge whinge whinge....

If you're on a daytime flight, the lesson is to wear something that you will be comfortable in for about 40 minutes while sitting in the 35 degree cabin until the plane takes off.

Don't wear a suit :p

My goodness! thanks for the info. i will be flying with QA soon. Perhaps i can wear shorts and basketball jersey during the flight? would it be a problem in the airport and QA?

Doha Airport is ok - sure there are minor irritations but you have to experience other airports where the bureaucracy - yes I know its security and its for our safety at the end of the day - is way over the top to appreciate that, actually, our airport here is convenient and expedites people and luggage reasonably quickly. Go to Mumbai if you want to take the Pepsi challenge - there you will see bureaucracy coupled with mis-management, coupled with ambivalence, coupled with autocracy coupled with doazing Police Officers, coupled with dozY Police Officers, coupled with blah blah blah blah - I hate that airport - it typifies EVERYTHING that is wrong with India.!! Just my 2 Rupees worth!

tallg...agree...

The bus and the Luggage-loading-process can depend upon the speed of exit.

The waiting for luggage takes the max time :(

Yes Jackmohan. with Luggage it's 30minutes, without the luggage i have left the plane and out of the airport and reached by home within 15minutes of landing....:)

UkEng....luggage also comes through egate? :P

Doha is fast in that sense ...you are out of the airport within 30mins of the flight landing....(with or without the EGate)...even though the immigration girls are talking on the mobile....

One of my friends even got out within 15minutes..without egate...now beat that!

Unless the bus from the plane goes the long way round the airfield - which takes nearly 30 minutes itself!

Best Airport Doha, In and out of a Airport/Plane in 30 minutes (if you have E-gate). I had to walk around 35 minutes at Dubai Airport just between the arrival and Departure Gates.

Hate Dubai Airport (too big for no Good), love their VIP lounges though..:)

I took a flight that departed at 2pm, boarding from about 1pm, and it was hot and uncomfortable when we first boarded.

By the time all passengers were on board and the doors were closed for departure, it was SWELTERING. Even the crew were sweating.

The captain apologised over the PA and explained that the aircraft AC units can't cope with the heat while the plane is at the gate, and nor can the mobile units.

It would be the same on any other airline, at any other Gulf airport, with the exception of those that use air-bridges, since there would be less opportunity for the hot air to enter the cabin.
