Its Coming! (rents slowly going down)

Have you seen the classified ads at Gulf Times lately? Just by browsing, you'll see that a number of villas, apartments are now offered a little lower than before. This is a good good sign folks!

Just see for yourself. I hope it will continue to decrease as the days goes by.

The decrease in demand will definitely press the present supply, lowering the cost in a natural fashion.

Your comment is only about 13 months late and now totally irrelevant. Check the date before you post.

By march many buildings rented by DAGOC would be released I think. THen there should be a chance of rents coming downfurther.

I guess, the truth about being at the Right Time and at the Right Place could really make a difference, huh. Anyways, I hope that all of us will get a decent place for a cheaper rent.

Anyhow, it's an observation that most of us are alrady noticing...slowly rents are going down.

I had to pay 9k for a decent appartment, for 8k they looked like a rat hole with something that they called furniture. Best thing is to lower your standards by half and then you will find a decent appartment(Doha standards) for at least 9k. rents are not coming down and they never will, but probably we will have at least the choice to choose instead of just paying for whatever is there just in order to live.

Sorry for the late reply, got busy with the holidays :)

Anyways, what I can suggest is that you first try to target the big companies. They usually start with the letter "Q" or start with the name "Qatar" on it, e.g. Qatar Airways, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Qatar Chemical, QTel, Qatar Foundation and a host of others.

If there's no or positive offer, I might help by asking some friends around, just send me your CV anytime.

God bless on your job hunting.

There has never been 4 to 5 pages of ads dedicated to rent, you might be new in Qatar. They'd rather put 3, maybe 4 pages max for sports but not for classified ads, especially rents. Why? For starters, there is Al-Waseet (free Arabic classified ads paper) and of course, the famous grocery billbaords flooded of these flats, room, villas and apartment for rent ads all over Qatar.

Accurate economics is not found on the number of pages in a newspaper, it is the content. You could have 4-5 pages of high priced flats due to a huge demand (and probably huge supply). But in this case, my humble economic knowledge says that presently, the demand is decreasing or stabilizing while the recently or newly built apartments, villas and buildings are just in time to cater the stabilizing market (renters) around (that includes you and me).

Bottomline, the rent will go down. You can thank me later Mikke.

she knows lots bout rents she keep on changing places of living and works real estate compny...lotsa knowing yessir

Since when reduction in offer leads to reduction of price. Good sign - as per my humble knowledge of economics - would be to have 4-5 pages of ads only for rental? Hm....

What is your opinion Safwany. I think your inputs will be more accurate since you are dealing in the market.
