We can try to reduce wastage of electricity , shopping bags and petrol. We also need to sort our trash and see what can be recycled. Is there any place in doha where we can drop off cans, glass etc to be recycled?

One of the most important things you can do at home is to turn electrical appliances off at the socket.

i.e. Don't leave your television on stand-by mode. If you're not watching it, turn it off at the socket.

Also, the same applies to your computer equipment, if you're not using it, turn it off at the socket.

And the same applies again for electric cookers. If you leave it switched on at the wall, they use electricity to run the clock, so it's best to turn it off at the socket.

There is a bit of a problem with bio-fuels. In that they take up so much land and resources to grow them that could otherwise be used to grow food.

Better to use energy generation equipment such as solar panels and wind turbines.

I got a list too...

1. I will use fuel saving car & not a fuel guzzeling SUV. Lest the

country can sell the oil & earn Foreingn Exchange. (If all the

people in Qatar can save 1 ltr a week Imagine the amount of

fuel saved) Fuel is only going to get costly not cheap.

2. I will plant & nourish 1 plant/ tree a month. (Everything grows

in Qatar if you care & nourish it).

3. Use the Dustbin & not the Road.

4. Wont use 40 Bulbs / Halogen lamps in a compound just because

the Bill is free.

5. Encourage the use of Bio-Gas. Not only for farming but as a non-

stop fuel supply replacement for the Kitchen. It can also be

used to run generators, motors etc. Here it would have no value

prehaps?
