Join the Tea Party

Just as the UK is seeing a "merging" of opposing parties, the USA has a new phenomena - The Tea Party Movement.

A movement which is catching the imagination of the people.

As the EU becomes more and more powerful and bloated - Is this what we need in Europe ?

I belive so ...

change the change implemented by Obama. Means returning to pre-Obama period! Lol!

LOL, "Change" actually meaning returning to the way things used to be. The Tea Party and its proponents hate change and in many ways they hate America, they're just too stupid to realize it.

are just using the strategy started by Obama _ CHANGE. And since the present dispensation has many failures, they are capitalizing on it.

S-isale most democratic countries don't have viable 3rd party options. Even in countries with more than 2 political parties, there are always 2 that are more in control and generally hold power.

That's questionable Brit. I think it's really hard to gage how much support the tea party actually has. They don't really have much of a voice outside of Fox News, and their members like Sarah Palin are a bit of a joke to most of the country. While I appreciate the guy from the guardian thinks they have pull, it's a bit hard for him to judge as he was traveling with supporters, and frankly is article makes them sound even nuttier than I thought they were.

They talk about "Big government" but I'd wager the vast majority of their supporters don't understand what they're actually talking about but are simply dissatisfied with a black, Democrat President (might be hard to argue which part they're more upset with the black or the democrat).

Yes Flor. I understand that. I don't think at any point I said they were separate from the Republicans.

they dont even have a third option in American politics. too bad....

Where were these Tea Party People when our country was really going to shit for 8 years just proves they are a crazy group of devotees to Sarah Palin who are only now getting involved as its hitting their pay checks! No sympathy from me. The one thing America needs more than ever now is a united front or I really believe America will crumble, the hate mongering is getting them no where fast.

becomes a separate party from Republicans, it will still be a Republicans! As to the amount of influence they will put inside the GOP when elected is still to be seen!

The key thing here is that even though they are a fringe group, the can and probably will influence the parties beacuse of the forthcoming elections..

By anonymous• 31 Oct 2010 10:25

As I said Brit. The Tea Party is a fringe group run by the most right-wing (and arguably dumbest) Republicans with the sole purpose of riling up those with the lowest understanding of politics and the world.

Do you actually understand the topic Flor or are you just arguing to argue, because you're really not making any sense or any kind of point.

there are two major parties in the US. If you choose one, you'll be an opponent of the other. whichever you choose, you'll be indifferent with the other. And both parties have their share of right and wrong policies, that's why people choose!

Between the Republicans and the Tea Party? No, they're virtually the same entity. Between the Democrats and the Tea Party, yes there's quite a bit of difference.

your mentioning US policies and it can not be influenced by any Qler! Lol!

Check both parties' policies, you think there is much difference?

So you're all for a continuing aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq, the majority of Americans being without health care, no Muslim community center in downtown Manhatten, No gay rights, etc.

She's one of its main supporters, and the whole movement is a bunch of uber-Republicans getting together to talk about how "Socialists" are taking over the country and blah blah blah. http://teapartypatriots.ning.com/

They're nutters.

They are not really another party. They are more intune with the Republicans.

However, they see government as getting too big and overbearing - so they can force the Republicans into changing their policies. Which in turn can also have an affect on the Democrats..

is within or inside the mainstream party itself? Right? Can it be considered a faction of said main stream party?

but how successful have their endeavors been so far? and will it be a success around Europe? these are important cos otherwise they will be like just another political party full of "good intentions".
