Hns: i guess that u r originally from syria/lebanon, otherwise how do u know ma'moul!
Jayca: Ma'moul is a special sweets which people generaly make it in the eid time, it is made of a special dough stuffed with smashed dates or with pistachio and it will be baked after making it in a special shape by using the special mold. sometimes i can c the same in lulu near the bread section by it is far different from the original one which syria/lebanon are famous with.
You are very kind osama...however, my mother-in-law will be visiting us this Eid and she will bring kalib al ma'moul with her.
I did manage to go to the Giant Store in Hyatt, and I found different kalib ma'mouls but they are very small and poorly made (not carved properly). So I guess I will have to wait to make the ma'mouls until the Eid.
Once again, thank you for your kind offer, but please don't trouble yourself :)
ok, anyway in this eid i will be eating the original home made ma'moul in my home country so if you want i can bring u some ;) with the mold and the recipe as well if u didn't find it here
Oh I did not know they are rebuilding it. I thought it was closed for good. Well, that is good news since I really liked that place. Thanks for the additional information. I am still on the hunt for the Kalib Ma'moul...my final place to try is the giant store in hyatt(and the ramiz stores you mentioned). If I don't find it there, then I will be out of luck.
Hns: The airport branch of Ramiz is demolished as they are planning to rebuild it. but there is two other branches: one as you said in gharafa near Land mark and the other one is in Al-Sad (ramada) before Jarir bookstore oppt. Mandareen
I tried Al Shaheen before Ramadan but did not find any...they change their stock quite frequently so I can give them another try soon. And yes I am trying to prepare for desserts for Ramadan and also for the Eid.

I loved Ramiz on Airport Road but they closed down :( I heard there is another one in the Gharrafa area, but will try other options first.
