Must admit that this is one of my pet peeves.. People , loudly using mobile phones in Gyms, trains, shops, buses..

A woman who got pulled of an Amtrak train by police after passengers complained she was speaking too loudly on a cell phone said she felt “disrespected” by the entire incident.

She was charged with disorderly conduct after police said she got into a “verbal altercation” with train passengers on Sunday.

Passengers complained she talked constantly and refused to put down her cell phone on a 16 hour journey and conductors had to stop the train in Salem, where police got involved.

Beard told KATU she was indeed talking on her phone, but said she didn’t understand why she had to be escorted off the train.

Salem police reported she had been on the phone non-stop since the train pulled out of Oakland, Calif. 16 hours earlier.

According to the press, she was on the same phone but using the charger on the train.

She might have got different cell phones and a postpaid connection.

Fair enough!!!

Imagine how disgusting this could turn out to be for you and the people around when the speaker is at the top of his voice for a prolonged period of time in a language you don't follow. A situation we are frequently subjected to in Qatar..

Apparently she was repeatedly asked to stop using the phone AND she was in a quiet car (i.e. no cell phones, music, etc.).

I wish they could do the same to people who use their mobile phones in movie houses.

What is most interesting is that she said that she felt "disrespected" for being kicked off the train. She forgets about how she disrespected the other passengers :o(

This is a Lady we are talking about - and we know they love to chat on the phone :o)

Seriously though.. People in general have no idea of phone ettiquette in public places. This is one reason I am against the allowing of mobile phone usage on airplanes.
