kids car seatbelt burns
Just a belated warning to those mums who may not be aware of the incidence of children being severely hurt by very hot metal car seatbelts.
When the car is left in the sun, the metal gets very hot, as well as the casing. To counteract this, always have a spare towel to sit the child on, and a couple of facecloths to put between the straps and the child. This will make life much more comfortable for them.
Many parents aren't aware that a crying child is actually crying because the hot belt connection is often 'burning' thru their thin clothing. The child doesn't know how to explain this though, and simply screams, aggravating the parent and other passengers.
If you notice a child distressed, always check the heat of the seat and belt!

I got a child-seat cover that completely covers the seat and belt buckle.
You can also put one of the small sunblinds on the seat and belt buckles.
