The last Laugh....
Enjoying the last laugh…
Several resident haters here on QL who used to come online and bark anti India racist stuff have almost disappeared. After the thrashing in rugby world cup and after being whitewashed 3-0 in the ongoing series against India, the “brits” are now discussing the weather these days…
Looks like they have crawled back under the rock they came from.
Cant blame them after winning the world cup and thrashing the opposition badly, India was envied all round, so much so not a single mention of India’s world cup win was posted on QL front page…
And when India lost all matches, some people enjoyed rubbing it in... several resident haters sprang up and celebrated the English series win... cant blame them... it doesnt happen often so they had to enjoy while it lasted...
Several people advised those reports be posted in India page. They also advised this is Qatar living and not India living…
Funnily when Sebastian Vettel won his F1 championship it deserved a front page posting again… no one questioned whether it was German living….
Im sure when new Zealand lift the world cup rugby, it will be front page news here on QL, no one will ask is it new Zealand living?
Though the world cup cricket comes once every 4 years, Indians victory was hardly mentioned on QL Front Page… people were almost apologetic to celebrate… WTF?
The reason being, the resident hate India brigade that infests this forum and whose only work is to crawl out from under the rock once in a while and vomit racist stuff…
At the end of all this sabre rattling, the good news is the short lived success for the poor English team has come to a shuddering halt in India… thrashed badly, the brits are behaving like the chairboys of QL… excelling in foul language…The ever calm and unruffled Indian Captain won the series and gave a sweet lesson to the foul mouthed brits…
It's almost impossible to guess what Mahendra Singh Dhoni is thinking. He has an inscrutable knack of drilling in his point and he does it with all the grace.
For example, when he took off his India jersey after winning the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup and gave it to a small boy on the field, it looked dignified. By way of comparison, when Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt and twirled it on Lord's balcony afterIndiahad won the NatWest Trophy a few years earlier, most people found it ugly.
On Thursday night, afterIndiatook an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the One-day International (ODI) series against England in Mohali, Dhoni made another telling point: on-field sledging of the Indians byAlastair Cook's players.
While pointing out that he won't mind a little bit of chit-chat as that "makes the game interesting", Dhoni was at his sarcastic best when he politely suggested that England would have to "change their strategy" of verbal assault as it hasn't worked in the series.
At the same time, Dhoni, also a master at playing with words, endeared himself to the game's connoisseurs by saying that the word "revenge" should not be used at all in sport. He was answering a question if India have taken fitting revenge by winning the series.
England, who thrashed India so badly in all formats of the game at home recently, are clearly frustrated and that could have led them to indulge in sledging.
A smiling Dhoni was inform right from the beginning of the late night press conference at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.
Even before he sat down, the broadly grinning captain deliberately asked loudly in the microphone: "The English press has gone?" Almost all English reporters had left the hall after Cook had finished his press conference.
Later, when asked about the exchanges between the Indian and English players, Dhoni got the ammunition he was perhaps looking for. "I think their strategy is not working," he said, referring to the sledging by the visitors.
"It is not only about 'giving' it to the opposition; you have to be fair. If our players are saying something to the opposition, which happens at times, I don't want them to be really personal or say things that with are not within the guidelines," he said, alluding to the International Cricket Council's code of conduct for players.
Street-smart at batting and captaincy, Dhoni is also good at using words that convey more than one meaning. "A bit of chit chat is fine because that also makes the game interesting. You don't always want a 'friendly' series. So, as far as things don't get too personal, I am quite happy with it. But I think they should change their plans for the next two games," he advised England.
Dhoni also took a dig at England, hinting that all was not well within their team. "It is very important to be nice to your teammates. There were lots of gestures around in the field and these are the things that really shape the character of a side. They are very good but they need to stick together," he advised again.
Bresnan fined for dissent
Almost at the same time Dhoni was speaking, ICC match referee Roshan Mahanama summoned England pacer Tim Bresnan after the umpires reported him for dissent.
At the end of the hearing, which was also attended by all the umpires, England coach Andy Flower and team manager Phil Neale, Bresnan was fined 7.5 per cent of his ODI match fee for snatching his cap from umpire Sudhir Asnani of India at the end of his fifth over and the innings' 18th.
Enjoy the last laugh and enjoy the Champagne…
May be the OP is referring to all these threads posted during the India's tour of England this year...

However, I think, generalization is not right just because of someone over passionate who has no idea of the game of cricket except statistics.
Mods interference is welcome if comments are not in the spirit of the game.
Chill man.:)
got bored half way through reading this thread, cant imagine how boring your life must be to actually complete this and think, yes this is good enough to post! the tones of your writing however has a distinct double standard attitude my friend, you say we 'the brits' are racist, i suggest you re read your post and then answer my question as to what this post makes you, sport is not a racial issue and i guess there are possibly more brits on here than indians ,which would answer your theory as to why it goes to the first page.
i do however hope there are fresh strawberries to accompany the finest champagne
u are so....
come on man...wake up!!!
no body thinks that much!!
whew...u really are a very very sad person!
Mods do the needful before this Thread turns into another ugly Racist and mud slinging contest. The tone of the OP is inciting hatred.
Well done to India for winning the cricket ODI's but lets not turn this into a racist thing!
Cryogenic, what a sad little person you are.
Rather a lengthy article on a trivial matter ? Racists will always be there whether India wins or loses in matches, and by reciprocating hate it takes us no where.
We need to concentrate currently on the challenges of corruption and poverty related issue in India rather than try to demand respect from other nationalities. Respect is always earned. It will take a while for the rest of the world to take notice of India once we the citizens learn to respect each other and have a clean governement and decent livelihood to a majority.
Right now , it is a long long way for all of us to go mate !
well at least brits have more brains not to take such a silly thing seriously :s get a job or do somethinf usfull insted of trashing white people :s!!
well done india,,, i liked the way Ms Dhoni played the last game,,,
did you mean choirboys???...either way.....
