If you are looking at that, make sure it is 'black to white', not 'grey to grey'. Very deceptive and important, but not as important as response time. Look for 8ms or faster. LG get a bad rap for reliability, and the Sony are overpriced except for the X series. Check out the Sammy 1080i HD's - seem very good. I'm tossing up between that and a Sony X Bravia. Good luck and report back!!
I also like LG since they are the only one giving contrast ratio 10k:1 in 32 inch segment. my budget is also not that high to buy tv around 4000 qr. so only i thought of either LG or Panasonic
I myself am a fan of any LG display. I had a monitor which i gave to a friend a while back a "Studioworks 710s" best damm monitor i ever had. I recommend them strongly if you are looking for long lasting quality.
May be of help to you - it covers the following Best Brands
• Hitachi, JVC, LG, Panasonic
• Philips, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba
I have pasted the survey to Word (may be a couple or 3 pages long, with colour items, if you are thinking of printing it)
Hmmm I don't know how to attach my word document lol
Vivek (or anyone) if you are interested PM me and I will sent it attached to an e-mail. It's a bit too long to paste here, unless any of you request me to do so. OK???
I'm not expert, but having just helped a friend pick one the word I hear is its all about Samsung. The guys in Carrefour were reluctant to name a brand as their favourite but when we independently started swaying towards them they couldn't help agreeing. I think there are cheaper models but because of the quality of their TVs it seems Samsung are the best value for money. Plus that round button makes them look kinda cool.
Apparently City Centre are bringing out their own version of an LCD surround sound package. It comes with a row of teenage girls talking loudly into their mobiles just behind your sofa and cuts the films so much the plots don't make sense for that authentic cinematic experience.
Joe.
ps did anyone else notice that they cut Marge and Homer kissing in The Simpsons Movie? Quite right. Yellow, two dimensional smut is the worst possible kind.

I like the Sonys pictures which mostly do look good but which series are best buys?
the old X are cheaper now, but new X coming soon, and the new D already here, or the W? anyone help with the current prices of any of these models.
also what TV signals are available in Doha? can you receive High Def signals from Satellite/cable?

I said on another thread (having added a survey about more expensive makes) that I, in fact, have a Samsung! Korean?
Actually, it's quite good - sufficient for my needs, anyway and was on offer when I bought it, so good value also.
Always buy the best you can afford.
My experience of the Korean brands is that they have a lot of features (which you will never use)but the build quality is not so good.
Make sure the panel is made in Japan and that you have seen a normal broadcast on it not the HD demo
Seemed the easiest way to go :o)

guys,
can anybody tell me more about this, please....
still chortling, here
joe,
i also lot about samsung. but my main query is does contrast ratio play major role in reception?
ya, thanks.
but I read on LG site that 32 inch LCD is having contrast ratio 10000:1.
this i dont see in any other company specially in this segment.can anyone out some light on it.
i feel that for clarity this contrast ratio might be playing major role.
