At least in Qatar, they check for ID cards all the time.

Hopefully Qatar will stay under the radar, when it comes to us consume alcohol in Private and only authorized locations.

Hopefully we will not loose our privilege, to some 'Dumb and foul British fu$ker,' better yet, any expatriate spoiling the fun of others.

What is happening in Dubai is not old news, My first visit in 2001,02, 03, 04, 05, The Hotel management used to tell us, drink in the bar only!

Don't get caught outside with alcohol or under the influence. No woman upstairs in your room, unless you are married.

Yes, prostitution was rampant with East European females and many other nationalities, they always had to do their business in secret.

Unfortunately, the Brits have spike the issue to a different escalation in the news.

I always said: 'Don't abuse your privilege of Alcohol, is not your right at all.' You are a guest in their NATION.

PS

Most of the towns in Dubai, do have curfew hours for the sale and consumption of alcohol. I guess that New Years was not an exemption for the local authorities.
