Here's a funny one..

Do we have a right to complain about what someone is earning ? speially when it doesn't directly affect us ?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just been transfered to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

But his earnings have been labeled as "indecent" in this time of austerity. many have jumped on the bandwagon to speak out against his salary of nearly €1m (£778,000) a month.

French Budget minister Jérôme Cahuzac, who described Ibrahimovic's salary as "indecent", fulminated: "At a time when everyone around the world is tightening their belts, these figures are not impressive, they are indecent. This is not what sport is about."

What say you ?

well buddy it's an online forum, we are both human beings and will sometimes find common ground on issues close to our hearts and in other instances will hate each other's guts for saying something that offends us or we don't agree with..i have already spewed lava at you haha a few times but doesn't mean i hate you the person..just that i don't agree with what you're saying or the attitude..and at any rate, online forums and their user output shouldn't be taken too seriously:-)

- every single person who is complaining; do not even attempt to tell us you would reject that money if it was paid to you..yes even in this economic climate with even your own family starving

- what that player makes is his good fortune, a payback for his presumably supreme skills and basically a result of what he's involved with; the very people who complain are the ones who spend their own money on sports channels/football merchandise and stadium tickets

- he is presumably the cream, a cut above his team mates; fernando alonso is the highest paid f1 racer..for a good reason..he's the best of the world's 24 best drivers.

- just accept that god deals in lots and accept this is your roll of the dice; he is a skilled footballer and you are an average professional who could easily be replaced by countless others.

What makes this case unique or different is that it is the French Budget Minsiter who fired the first salvo.

Now why would a politician do this ?

Maybe handful of people were complaining in Qatar..

Everything is connected back to racism... so sad, can't see beyond their own noses and everyone is against them....

same thing was said when Man Utd was the richest team and paid the most money, same for the Italians in the 1980s when they bought the best players in the world and paid the best salaries. Maybe all these teams had Arab backers and I didn't know it at the time...

The amount of people who complained when Chelsea started spending a lot was a handful. When Man City and PSG started spending the media got involved.

By anonymous• 23 Jul 2012 05:22

People also complained when Chelsea started paying "obscene" amounts to sign up players and then paid them massive salaries. Roman Abramovich is an Arab too?

Racism? Amusing....

jjj PSG is owned by t he Qataris. When M City started splurging money everyone was crying about how players were given inflated salaries. The same goes with PSG. when Real Madrid throw money at players it is not an issue. :P

and a very clever one as now the worlds media are taking note of the club be it for negative or positive they are still looking.

when the expenses scandal broke out in the UK everyone i know was opinionated at how the coffers were being spent and the same here applies for my answer

if you where offered that salary or those perks would you turn them down? would you not sign that employment contract and say no sorry it is not fair on the rest of the world, Nah I wouldn't either pass me the pen...

I personally think there is no right to complain if given the opportunity you would do the same, and these public trophies often do a lot for the disadvantaged may it be money, promoting causes or just by given hope and inspiration, i just wished i paid more attention in sport at school instead of hang round the back of the bike sheds :) (which was cool in its day!)

if he's got enormous talent why not? as far as i know football players get paid a lot of money anyway! that's how their market rolls.

I know nothing about who owns these clubs, I think it is obscene/indecent whomever owns them

BTW, as I am not a football officianado, I assume stealth by your comments that PSG is owned by Arabs?

it is indecent if the salary is paid by an arab owner. it is decent and deserving if it is paid by a European owner. Racists of the worst kind

In theory I have nothing against free enterprise and people being paid market rate or whatever an employer wants to pay them. BUT it just seems a bit obscene that when alot of people are suffering economically in these countries, someone should be paid so much for kicking a ball around and it is not as if you see so many of these footballers give a lot back to the community (which they could as their famous names carry a cachet).

Some part of their salaries to players goes to pay taxes, to football club and then to players.....it justifies

From such huge incomes,

the concept of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) emerged to help the unfortunate and encouraged Big Corporates to make more charities out of their extra revenues.

the point is that his teammates work as much as him, same hours, same training...

so why getting payed more than another teammate that does the same work?

however, it is not the case. the salary is more toward zlatan abilities and special drills, than toward a mere job or working hours. what he achieves is beyond much of other players reach, and he gets payed for that. if at the end of the season his accomplishements are meager, his payroll will suffer.

demand v/s offer. payroll v/s expactations.

Right, if the income of that person increasing the burden on tax payers/Govt directly or indirectly...then complaints justifies otherwise not.

Are these people who are complaining able to do his job better than him? I doubt it, so they have no right to critise.
