LiL Wayne Concert Cancelled....

By SamyaUK

Just to let anyone who was planning to go know...

Sara Nassery cancelled the event "Lil' Wayne LIVE in Doha - Thursday 16 April". Sara says, "We have been informed that the Ministry of the Interior will NOT be permitting Dewayne Michael Carter AKA lil' Wayne To enter or perform in Qatar and that's due to him being recently flagged by Interpol.

We follow the laws of the State of Qatar and we would not like to tarnish the state's image in any way or form. We have informed the artist's management that we will not be proceeding with the event scheduled to take place on the 16th of April at the Intercontinental Qatar and they communicated that they are disappointed that they could not fulfil their commitment to all the fans in Qatar.

I would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and all of you for your continued support.

apparently, you're right shashisho. they're advertising it on FB.

Ad: AKON LIVE IN DOHA

Hopefully he'll be granted visa as his police records are even more serious than Lil Wayne's.

hmmmm... is that for real? akon's scheduled to perform in Manila on May 23. And beside's if lil wayne wasn't given a visa due to his police record, what'll be the difference with Akon's case?

Either way, I really want to watch him live. Either in PI or here =)

"the artist always apologizes to the fans via youtube/video or his website"

No they don't.

It was a scheduled event, and we are in Qatar... so why would he make a public apologie?? sounds weird...

When Sean Paul came, his concert was cancelled due to the bad weather, he flew back to USA and didnt make any apology, its not their fault...

By chi-doha-08• 22 Mar 2009 09:58
chi-doha-08

all this was a scam...there was NEVER an official announcement...it was never in his tour date schedule or in any press release. Whenever something like this happens (especially when it is not because of the performer, like in this scenario), the artist always apologizes to the fans via youtube/video or his website.

Its unfortunate they fooled everyone like this..."Black Pearl Entertainment" really are unprofessional and cannot be trusted again...

you think that Qatar would allow someone who swears alot, tattoos and dresses dirty to come into the country and destroy what they stand for, unfortunatly not. If they did we would have had sean paul, snoop dog, and all those hip hop swearing singers and mayby a couple of really hor dirty looking girls singers too. But hay thats my fantasy doubt Qatar can do anything like that... But it was a great show they put on for bringing him, i mean people out there really did believe....

Well, he's a little too fond of drugs and firearms, both of which don't go down too well in Qatar.
