Would you lend money to a "colleague", say a security man who wants to borrow four times his monthly salary?

a colleague of mine and also a friend i can trust its not a big deal if i will lend him some money as long as it will not be part of my budget (extra).

After giving ideas on how to get around the problem, if someone really needed the money, I have lent before to people who cannot repay, even though I didn't have much. But I only do it once or twice at the most. Because any more than that and the person is simply taking advantage of your kindness. And there are many who will come up with really innovative sob stories.

Never let someone borrow from you if you are not sure if this person has the capacity to repay it. If you really want to lend your money, get something from him with the same or higher value, and return to him once he repay you. Be wise, you can help someone without sacrificing yourself too much.

Or if you are rich, maybe you can give him some money

The simple answer is NO because its pretty obvious he will not be able to repay in the timeframe required.

However, if you can afford it and he has "actual" problems which may be resolved with your help, then perhaps you can consider it as a "goodwill" gesture.
