MAC Make-up Artist
Hello Everyone!
I'll be coming to Doha in May and thanks to all of you, I am very well informed. The only thing I haven't been able to get information on is women's beauty supplies. I am a MAC make-up Artist and because I will not be employed for these skills in Doha, I was wondering if I should bring my make-up kit with me.
My questions are:
1. Are make-up artist skills in demand?
2. Are there many western make-up artists doing freelance work?
3. How much does it cost to get a full make-up application in a Doha salon?
I have several years of experience doing fashion shows, photo shoots, film, commercial, bridal, make-overs. I often do "house calls" and have a pretty complete kit. I read on the message boards that the MAC store isn't open yet in Doha...so I thought my skills may be interesting to some. What do you think?
Thank you in advance for your help!!
Hi do you still do bridal makeup
Hello I need a make-up artist for tommoro...can you help??? or do you know anyone else who could do it. Please call me 557-9218
You guys are SO great!! THANK YOU for your advice and Mila..I am e-mailing Gwen ASAP!! I'm actually going to be working in a different field when I get out there and wanted to keep doing make-up on the side. In North America, I usually charge $100USD for a full application and $150USD for a full bridal application. Is that a reasonable price in Doha? I've worked at a MAC Pro boutique for several years, I love doing make-up and would really enjoy continuing to do some work here and there. Is this a service ladies out there would be interested in?
Contact Trinity agent, they are what you looking for www.trinityqatar.com and Gwen is the make up artist there, how knows maybe they need new people.
They talent agent and supplies models, hostess, actor, and their project is everywhere. Good luck.
I would bring your favorites (which is probably everything) as you may find that the selection, even within Mac is different. There is already a Mac store open in City Center and like you read another one opening. I would think that if you wanted a job, you could definitely find one and I don't know why they wouldn't except your previous training. You would probably be the top makeup artist for expats and we will all come to you! lol Good luck!
My advice- Bring the make-up kit with you :-) Arabs are more fashionable, As I dont know much about the Qatar living standard, but there won't be any harm in carrying your kit with you... might be you will get a chance sometime, somewhere. Have a great day ahead!!
