Man to be deported over love letter

Sound cheesy but romantic..♥♥♥

A Pakistani will be deported from the UAE for breaching a woman’s modesty by posting a love letter on her car’s windshield asking her to marry him, UAE daily Gulf News reported.

The woman, 26 from Iran, told police that it wasn’t the first time the defendant has been stalking her for a long while.

“I do not know the defendant in person… but he has done it in the past also. Last time I complained to the police, but then I withdrew my complaint after he signed an undertaking promising not to stalk or harass me,” she was quoted as saying by Gulf News.

The defendant admitted that he posted the love letter, telling court that he loved the woman and was serious about his marriage proposal, the report claimed.
The Dubai misdemeanour Court fined the defendant AED 2000 ($544) and ordered his deportation, the report added.
The decision is subject to appeal within 15 days.

I'm with FathimaH! No means no - she'd already turned him down. He could, like many stalkers, have mental problems.

He deserves to be evaluated clinically. I have no doubt to say he is not mentally sound.

May be the lady had a lover existing .So she couldnt recognise his love.He should have asked her Email\chat ID thats would have saved him from deportation.

Letter seams bit old fasion

Its good he has been made an example of for the rest of the potential stalkers.

So that's pretty much the story. As I said before, brother, stalking is a crime in many countries, not just UAE. The authorities just can't take chances in such cases specially when this is not the first time.

Read the article..he even promised not to do it again. What are the police and courts supposed to do? Allow him to keep harassing her? In another country he might even be imprisoned for his acts. I do pity his loved ones and dependents back home, if any. This will truly cause them much sorrow and may Allah make it easy upon them..Aameen!

Bro..why do you call her that? Would you like someone to harass your mom or sister, stalking them and not leaving them alone even when they made it clear they didn't like the guy? Would you like that for yourself even? Read the article again, particularly this passage:

" The woman, 26 from Iran, told police that it wasn’t the first time the defendant has been stalking her for a long while.

“I do not know the defendant in person… but he has done it in the past also. Last time I complained to the police, but then I withdrew my complaint after he signed an undertaking promising not to stalk or harass me,”

Stalking is a crime in many countries, and even back in Sri Lanka young women have been killed and maimed by stalkers who claimed to have loved them.

A big lesson for all men. its good to be always in our limits. one mistake can lead us to destruction. he should have atleast thought about his parents. sisters and brothers that for what reason he has come abroad. for earning bread and butter or for writing love letters.he will regret once he reaches his country.

I know exactly what you mean!Being stalked is by far one of the worst experiences I have ever lived through. It was so frightening and I am still haunted by it all. Thank God I got out of it all unhurt but others have not been that lucky. Anyone who sees anything remotely harmless and worse still romantic in a stalker should go Google "stalkers turn deadly"

I can understand now what amount of damage stalker(s) can do and they come in different shades not just lovesick but as JB007 too...:) And yeah, I know this line of tracking the IP address used by them. Recently an old timer pushed that onto me through a PM. I will never understand what fun they derive from such useless acts of theirs. Cant I have my space or is it mandatory for these people to know who is who. Strange mindsets people have or is it an attempt to make themselves feel important or do they derive some thrill from such acts in their otherwise dull life. Whatever, I just hope the person who bothered me is reading this and understands it is not at all appreciated when you boast about being a spy. In fact, it doesnt speak very good about you cos in doing so you are encroaching into my space without my consent. I am just an online ID for you like you are for me, let us remain so!!!

I have someone stalking me as well.

It's phone calls mainly, thought he was being friendly in helping me look for a place etc but he has become very nasty.

He says he knows a lot of people here in Doha and that people would believe him over me.

Do you think that being a Doctor and living here longer makes a person more respectable and believable?

Poor lovestruck Romeo. Reminds me of a story from 'Chicken Poop for the Soul: Stories to Harden the Heart and Dampen the Spirit', a man took some advice seriously, about loving his beloved, and behaved in a similar manner.

But seriously, such situations can get nasty very quickly. Alhamdulillah I haven't had a big problem, only a slight brush with a psycho who had hacked my teacher's email account. He stalked my teacher though, sending her death notes too :( But actually he was a coward, was traced and warned by authorities.

A side note, I really wish people would not use the term 'Paki'. A request :)

and unlike Mimi2 and Fatimah, my ex-stalker had a groupie. They track my IP address (to report me to CID), harass me on board, calls my mobile phone to cuss me.

Even called my office once or twice demanding to speak with my Boss to complain/badmouth me and get me fired.

THAT was borderline weird...and "demented". They also thought I don't know them...such losers.

Don't know what happened to them, last thing I heard, the ring leader and a couple of them left the country. The others are still on QL under different userIDs.

What was saddening was they were fellow compatriots...sad indeed.

Now, after posting this comment...will they resurrect to haunt me again...i will see :)

I am sorry you had to face this also. Glad you lived through it.

I was only 17 at that first stalking incident and it went on for weeks, imagine how I felt as a teen not safe to go to school etc.

Having to get a restraining order at 17 from a young man who didn't like the word no, and even tried to tell my parents bad lies about me since i refused his advances .

So seeing the word Stalker, brings back bad memories to me. Even if someone here thinks it is funny, its not. I lived it. And unfortunately a lot of ppl get stalked and killed if they refuse the advances of a one sided love or fatuation.

Some guys dont think they are stalking and being agressive, but just trying to win the girl over and are very obsessive in doing so. No mean no!!!

Brit....in short

I have had real life stalker, and here in Ql...

Would not leave me alone.

would Park behind my car not letting me back out unless I talk to him. Showing up to my work watching me working.... All kinds of problems. I had to call police.

That was in USA. no way to deport him.

As for the one here in Qatar that knows me in person and knows also i have QL

...he mentioned in one of my posts he is stalking me and no matter how many times i change IDS, he will still know, and track me...

I even posted back that stalking is not allowed or funny! that it would be so easy to call police and have him deported......

I wish there was no track option.... :(

If a woman clearly shows her dislike and turns down a man's advances, and yet he pursues her and bothers her, this is not romantic!

Regardless of how they may portray it in the movies, stalking is no light matter.

Many people have been killed and many others physically and mentally scarred by stalkers. And they all started out innocently!

The article clearly mentions that the woman has even in the past told the man to stop harassing her,she has complained to the police even before and though he promised to stop, he has continued. This is creepy and frightening! Imagine how invaded the women must feel?Imagine the fear of wondering what this man might do next and where he might turn up?Thank God the guy will now not ever be able to harm this woman, even mentally, and I hope he will also learn a lesson from this and never harass other women again.

The title is misleading...the man is being deported for a crime, of stalking and harassment NOT just writing a letter!

yea title was a bit misleading he is getting punished for stalking...hard to see how it would be romantic for the girl...sure the guy has to take the customary first step in most relationships but...yea that is taking two dozen too many steps after she made it obvious she did not want to get involved

Is it stalking ? any different from the PM's on QL ?

I think the punishment is a bit harsh. He is loveick. Perhaps a warning from the police would have sufficed in the first instance.
