Mass hangings on corniche?
From today's on-line Peninsula
Doha • Families avoided the Corniche on the second day of Eid as the Doha's popular landmark witnessed hundreds of single expatriates, mostly Asians workers hanged there for Eid celebration.

Erm...please ignore this one folks.
Stay safe all.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
I haven't been THIS relieved to see a typo in a LONG time!
Thanks for sharing Dweller =)

When I was nursing, saw an advert in a hospital notice board
"Electric Chair for sale, only used twice"
I'm glad you understood the article :) My hehehehe translates to LOL, it was just really funny how a simple missing of the word 'out' changed the entire meaning of the article. I, like Cornellian got scared when I first read the title and then had a lovely laugh at the mistake. :)
Have a lovely weekend and let's all get 'hanged' at the corniche! LOL.

I was worried when I read the title, but then realised it was a mistake made by the newspaper. Phew! Maybe they should send us the articles to proof-read lol.
Yesterday that piece of news made my day :D Best wishes to Novita and her family :)

Corniche is a good place for our single expates hanging out. whatsoever, I hanged myself out there. sometimes 1 - 2 hours.
hahaha, somehow, I find hanging out on Corniche is very good.
That is my understanding at beginning of seeing the word HANG.

That's just too funny. ROFL
Thanks for pointing it out. And, BTW, it hasn't yet been amended in the on-line edition. ROFL

This must be one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a Doha newspaper.! I have emailed it to my friends in South Africa along with photos of the glitzy decorations in City Centre-telling them this is how Eid is celebrated in Doha.
Got my interest all at once with that "mass hanging" title.
They should have added the word "out" to the "hanging"....lol to read hanging-out
I guess their proofreader's on vacation...whehehehehe

It would be quite nice if you replace those 'heheheheh' by explaining what you have understood. Is there any typing mistake?

These single expatriates are the one responsible for all the road, villa & all the nice building & infrastructure in Doha. Qatar Govt should supply free food & drinks at the corniche & ask those so-call "families" to serve them for 2 days instead.
Waiting for Dweller ...... However, on the original article there is no ( ? ) :D

I think Dweller was more pointing out their use of words - "mass hangings."
Good Morning,
I wonder why you posted this, but the interrogative mark you added to the title is probably part of the answer. I notice those so called mass hangings, but I didn't see anything strange or wrong. People are enjoying the only two-days holiday they can have here in Qatar.
I don't think families would be bothered anywhere here in Doha. Anyway, there is always the choice for an adequate place according to your revenue or your social status or according to who you are with :D
I don't know why Qatari people feel '' afraid'' of single expatrites. they take it as a sorta invasion once single expatriats are getting accomodations around :D
