Movember 2013
Here it goes! Special celebrations for 4 airlines celebrating Movember 2013!!
Right now is the time for men participating in Movember (a contraction of Moustache November) to go beyond a 5 o-clock shadow and grow out their facial hair to draw attention to men's health issues.
Last year was the first time several airlines also showed their support by giving their planes some nice mustaches, and several have returned for 2013. Here's what a few are doing for the cause:
British Airways
After the success of last year, BA is back into Movember. Highlights include an Embraer aircraft painted up with a 'stache, and a "giant moustache on display in the departure lounge at London City for the month-long campaign."
As male BA staff and crew cultivate their own facial hair, passengers traveling out of London-City are encouraged to pose for photos with an oversized moustache in return for a donation.
Share those photos on social media with the hashtag #LCYtash, and you're eligible for BA prize drawings this month.
Brussels Airlines
An Airbus A319 gets the Movember treatment in Belgium, as Brussels Airlines takes up the cause with an company-wide charity drive. They even produced a dramatic short film documenting the painting of their plane:
Qantas
This Aussie airline got a head start on Movember by putting their mustachioed plane in the sky around mid-October. It's a Boeing 737, and the 2013 facial hair style is full handlebar, to honor Australian Cricket legend, Merv Hughes.
Virgin America
Every month is Movember for Virgin America, as they've had a San Francisco Giants-theme Airbus A320 for over a year now. It's got more than a simple mustache, however; the aircraft sports a full face of hair, in the style of Giants player Brian Wilson.
All for a good cause and awareness of the two main forms of cancer in Men!
there is still some !
