Barry of course does not exist in Arabic. Spear man is also not correct in arabic, so its equivalent (in the military unit sense) would be spear carrier or wielder.

That in Arabic is: Hamel Al Rimeh (The spear carrier....or Hamel Rimeh = spear carrier).

My Arabic is a little rusty, so maybe someone can do better =)

Also note, this is in the Lebanese/Syrian/Jordanian/Palestinian dialect...Classical Arabic may be different...and I have no idea what the local dialect equivalent is.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?

Shavonne is right... SPEAR=SIBAT (thanks shavonne, my tagalog vocabulary is getting poorer and poorer.. shame on me!)

Its getting really difficult memorizing 3 languages, I should really review my tagalog grammar and vocabularies ;-)

TO JBH = thanks for this you made me think and reminded me of my mother-tongue

Spear Man = Maninibat (Tagalog)

Cheers!

"spear man" ( a man going to a battle with a spear) spear like specific weapon.

In "TAGALOG" (national language of Philippines)

MAN = TAO

SPEAR = I cannot find a word in "tagalog" the closest one is a SWORD

SWORD = ESPADA so it will be ;

TAO + ESPADA but you need to add a suffix to it "NG"

"SPEAR MAN" = TAONG ESPADA (in TAGALOG)

Cheers!
