Di Matteo was an inspired appointment for my hated rivals, he gives them a 'no fear' element.

The main problem is EUFA and the influx of foreign players. The play acting and diving have had a major affect of teh way the tackles are perceived..

And I remember seeing the horror tackles of the 90's and my Uncle saying....'you think that's bad, you should have seen them 10 years ago'!

I guess every generation thinks theirs are the worst, but football is a contact sport.

Recently the NFL (the 'other' football) released findings that concussions that happen in tackles are potentially causing brain damages in later life. Head on tackles are a huge part of their game, and concussions were seen as a badge of honour before now.

Is football causing cognitive injuries? Not to belittle a broken leg, but they heal easier than, er....a brain.

Also, De Jong at the weekend....well, he seemed to be after the ball....there is a difference if it is a Keano on Haaland revenge attack isn't there?

It's one thing being physical but he is really dangerous at times..
