Probably by now you could have solved your problem.

Normally these iphones are supplied through a service provider and registered with them.Especially iphones (Smart phones) do not work if purchased in one country and are to be used in another country. But there are so many shops in Doha who unlock them.

Getting Wifi should not be a problem as it is similar to a Lap top as long as the settings are right.

However if you still have a problem there is a site where in you can get the answers and also there is a live chat. They would take step by step to activate your phone.

try this URL. There are also some queries similar to yours but the answers tto that is unfortunately another Unlocking URL in which they charge. Don't try that, it is preferable to get it unlocked at Doha wherein atleast you can contact the shop again if you have any further problems or for any queries.

Archana.Sandy...

I recently bought an Omnia 2, in Malaysia, and have used it for 2 weeks without problem. But now I'm in Qatar, and i recieve a msg from the Qtel(telco) saying "Sorry, your phone is not capable of accepting settings at this time".

My contacts gets scramble, eg. i save my qatar friends number, but each time they call, only the phone numbers pop up instead of names, but each time i recieve sms, their names pop up. I look back at the phone contact, those names whom i save +974 (1234567), each time they call, i only see their number (1234567), but if they sms me, i can see their names. Same goes if i save their number without the +974, if they call, i can see their name, but if they sms, i only get numbers.

But never tried Wifi or MMS yet...

Did u recieve the same problems as well?

Read the label once again and make sure that its SAMSUNG, not "SUMSUNG" or "SIMSINGH" or "SOME SINGH".. Hope this would help you!!!
