There's a new radar set up on the road from Doha to Shahaniya. Those of you heading this way, you might notice a white Nissan Patrol parked on the side of the road (on your right)...if you go past it, there's a radar attached in front of the bumber (right side).
Those light on top have caused more than one problem.
Viz the egg box (Main Post Office) opening. The ceiling on the approach to the top floor was (I assume still is) lower than the other floors. It would take a Land Cruiser but not one with lights on!
Viz then the queue that formed (and the hill start accidents caused) when the first Police LC wedged itself on the slope!
they operated radar at night on the Dukhan to Dukhan road so never assume that it's clear at night.
They almost caught me once but the metal bands around the equipment reflected my headlights and I slowed down.
An amusing site in those days was a police Land Cruiser (with lights and radar) trying to hide behind a small construction on the left of the road. I don't know if they ever realised that the lights protruded over the top of the construction. Maybe they eventually did as we used to slow down and wave to them as we went past.
i doubt it ...the authorities are trying to be clever i guess. Most of the radars are not hidden and with this it is obvious that most motorist only slow down or drive within the speed limit where they know radars are installed and speed up where radars are not visible.

if the radar is installed on the car then its a mobile one isnt it? not a fixed one
