Not enough traffic? Traffic light decides to collapse

Not enough traffic? Traffic light decides to collapse

Traffic was partially disrupted for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon near Mamoura after a traffic signal fell to the ground.

As if Qatar didn't have enough traffic problems already, the traffic light near Mesaimeer-Mamoura Road decided to just collapse and disrupt traffic flow.

Police reached the spot immediately and brought the situation under control. Long queues of vehicles formed as the traffic was diverted.

Since a number of schools are situated in the area, many students and their parents were caught in the traffic jam since the disruption happened around the end of class time.

Could there be a better time for the traffic light to collapse?

Maybe the lights got confused and for a second thought they were those security gate arms that go up and down.
