International cricket umpires caught on camera fixing matches

A television channel has said it has caught on camera international umpires agreeing to fix matches during domestic Twenty20 tournaments.

Footage screened on India TV on Monday and seen by Reuters appeared to show umpires from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka negotiating deals with under-cover reporters to spot-fix matches.

The channel showed footage of Pakistan's Nadeem Ghauri, Nadir Shah of Bangladesh, part of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) international panel of umpires, and Sagara Gallage of Sri Lanka agreeing to give favourable decisions in exchange for umpiring contracts and money.

Looks like there were other things besides cricket going on out there.

Yeah hopefully and to work as umpires in the T - 20 games in Qatar in 2016. Just wondering whether this would be a punishment or a reward for going away before their time was up

It was so obvious with Steve Bucknor with the number of times he gave Sachin out... sometimes the ball was an inch far from the bat... and clearly visible on replays...

This after a couple of yrs Bucknor was considered one of the best umpire. He was good until he decided to go after Sachin. Finally the BCCI formally loged a ccomplaint and had to threaten not play India in tournaments where Bucknor is referring...

He would have finished Sachin's career had he continued. Anyody else would have given up. Actually during that period Sachin was so fustrated as when ever he was set this guy used to give him out and on other times he used to play some desperate stroke and get out. It was to get out of this phase Sachin started playing defensively so there are less errors. And only in the last few years has Sachin started to play like before.

Now that's just pathetic really!Makes you think this maybe due to other reasons than simply being sad that your national team lost.

Taking sport too seriously. May they rest in peace.

I recall many many years ago crying after Leeds were beaten in the 1973 Cup Final by Sunderland. My grand father saw me and asked why I was crying. When i told him, I got a clip round the ear and a verbal bashing for being stupid enough to take sport so seriously. Since then i have enjoyed it but not to excess..

Two Sri Lankan youth unable to put up with the national team's defeat in the ICC World Twenty20 cricket final against the West Indies have committed suicide, police said on Monday.

17-year-old Ashan Lakshitha, who returned home after watching the match on a giant screen at city's Galle Face promenade, was found hanging on a mango tree early this morning.

Similarly, 21-year-old Mahendran Suresh from the central district town of Hatton hanged himself in his bed room.

Indian umpires dont cheat or fix matches, these are just rumors started by Pakistani, Sri lankan and Bangladeshi jealous umpires.

Having loved the game of cricket very dearly since my teens, I too felt very disillusioned and disgusted at all the stories of corruption and crime that suddenly started coming to light. What was once the so called "gentleman's game" and extremely thrilling to watch, has now been reduced to a largely unbelievable event, where you can never be sure that those won, won fairly. The spirit of the game seems to have long departed. And as the saying goes "it's just not cricket"

What about Indian umpires ? why only Pakistani, Srilankan and bangladeshi umpires were shown in the footage...does this mean indian umpires are clean and all the goodness in this world is in india ? what happens in IPL is known to everyone. An indian friend was right, indians always cry when they lose and now they have started doing it after a shameful return from T20 WC super8 matches. And if we look on the other side then it seems Indians or Indian Media is trying to spoil the game by bribing umpires. Is it a positive influence on Cricket ? Does it mean ICC is no longer required and Indian media can handle ICC's responsibilty very well ???

I stopped watching cricket long ago for these reasons...something or the other is fixed in each game and when it gets revealed later all that anxiety seems so stupid and myself even more...:( Not worth it.
