Some people believe that the escalating violence in the media has led to escalating violence in real life. People are taking their cues from what the see and hear. The situations we observe in a fictional reality bring out the worst in us. People try to reenact stupid things they see on TV, or they put the blame on violent song lyrics. If a person goes on a shooting spree in a video game, they will be more apt to try it in real life. It maintains that these media artifacts bring out the worst in our human nature. Basically the media breeds a more violent society. Society perpetuates the violence it sees.
now media is playing war in the world they advertise even the death now if we don't see daily some falsh we are looking for it infact now no news without voilence
That picture shook the world's conscience. Something journalists can do even today if they were not so busy with "sensationalising to propagandise" as John puts it.
Some believe that Murdoch is now the most powerful man in the world..
Through his various channels including BSkyB, The Times, The Sun, Star TV and Fox News he can influence billions of people in just about every country on the Globe.
Going back to the topic. Do you recall the picture of Kim Phuc (Vietnam war) which when published caused such an outcry . That was real journalism in my opinion ..
.... ....britexpat nomerci, with the current innovative hologram technology, I'm afraid we'd get chased to see the news on the walls as we think about them. They're working on reading our minds as well. It's scary.
..."Old news" was too slow and limited, we've learnt about an incident 2 days after it has happened. Today, we watch it live as it happens in all languages.
.....I just get exhausted having to zip through all those news channels, websites, news feeds, blogs, webcasts, internet fora...phewww, that's a lot of workout...:)

I blame Murdoch for starting this change
Well said... News is big business now and sensationalism sells.

Happy, yes, but isn't that exactly what was happening one year ago? See, no difference, just more of the same.
... nomerci, are you kidding? of course there would be difference, more dead, bombed, ruined people and places. Annihilation.
Perhaps this is one reason that we have become immune to some of the real horrors in the news - because it is alway there and in our face.
Happy, think about this. Imagine you have no access to any media for one year. Then, after one year, you again have access to all.
Do you think you would see anything different from what you saw one year ago?
..."Old news" was too slow and limited, we've learnt about an incident 2 days after it has happened. Today, we watch it live as it happens in all languages.
Old media was better. Proper on the field reporting by individuals. Nowdays, news is sourced from two/three organizations.
iReport is good :O)
yup, I get it here, on QL...;)
.....I just get exhausted having to zip through all those news channels, websites, news feeds, blogs, webcasts, internet fora...phewww, that's a lot of workout...:)
Earlier media made me think, now they make me laugh.
iReport is great, and yes, no lies. But the exact point of the one reporting.;)
....iReport is the best. No lies.
Old media: less breadth more depth. New media: more breadth less depth. Which one is better?..that depends.
....Now is better.
well it matters now as much infor we have now we are not using them before we had less but we were using them
before we were looking for meterial for study now it is ready for us on internet
doesn't matter, real nutters promote propaganda.
