Oldest Dad in the World!!
At 96, India's Ramajit Raghav fathers a child to become the oldest dad in the world
Few people live till the ripe old age of 96, leave alone father a child. But Ramajit Raghav has done just that. At 96, he has fathered a child to become the oldest dad in the world. Raghav and Shakuntala perhaps also deserve credit for daring to live in, in none other than Haryana, more than 17 years ago when the two met in Kharkhoda village in Sonepat district.
Now the toast of the media for having fathered a child at his age, the couple remained childless for the first 15 years of their relationship. Their first child, Vikramajit, was born only two years ago. And now, Raghav is the proud father of a second child. "We are expanding with the blessings of God. He must have wanted us to have another child. I'm more than happy," he says with a smile. Their second child, born on October 5, has been named Ranjit. Shakuntala says the delivery was normal and the child is healthy. "I don't have any expectations from either of my children. They'll make their own destiny," the father says.
Villagers, however, refuse to accept that Raghav and Shakuntala are indeed the biological parents of the two children.
Kushma and Ranjeet, their next door husband- wife couple, express doubts over Raghav's virility and Shakuntala's faithfulness.
"No one can father a child at his age," says Kushma. Ranjeet adds: "Nobody can support a family of four without a livelihood or financial support from anyone.
None of them have a relative." Like several other villagers in Kharkhoda, Raghav came to Sonepat as a migrant labourer in search of a living.
"I came here nearly 20 years ago from Azamgarh (in Uttar Pradesh) searching for a job and settled down as a farmer," he says.
Raghav, who was a wrestler in his hey days, now supports his family with Rs.550 that he receives as old- age pension.
Community members occasionally give the couple clothes, food and blankets.

Pablo Picasso was 68 when he got Paloma his daughter. It is a fairy tale that men cannot have children at certain ages. Unfortunately many (stupid) men believe that shyte. It all depends on one thing: is the woman sexy enough to make the man hot? If he can't, well, then she is not hot enough.
Glad to know we have your attention now Aunty...did i mention i'm Indian too :P
Indians are indeed very prolific!

"Ramjit admits that as proud as he is of having two healthy sons at his age, his neighbours are more jealous of his sex drive.
Ramjit admits that as proud as he is of having two healthy sons at his age, his neighbours are more jealous of his sex drive
He said: ‘I do it three or four times a night. My neighbours are jealous and they keep asking me for my secret but all I tell them is that it is God's will.
‘I'm healthy and I enjoy sex with my wife. I think it's very important for a husband and wife to have sex regularly and when she asks I will go on all night but for the sake of my child I've put our needs aside for now.'"
All i can say --- OMG!
Brit, I am with you on the kids future issue.
Cherukkan, being the biological father is my question, for a 96 year old man to raise a child is no question. yes, it can happen :)

It sounds like he's a pretty healthy 96, so while male fertility does start to decline at 35, there is still a chance that some men can father children in their 80's and 90's.
Also, she's 54, which makes me think this is one of those "pre-menopause" babies. (women become very fertile right before starting menopause)
There can always be a biological aberration but the focus should be on the kids.. Their future doesn't look too promising at the moment
bubblymom, ofcourse he can but I don't know in this case if he is the biological father or not
If you bake the cookie, you better be prepared to eat it too :P
I personaly doubt it, but it doesn't really matter. The focus should be the kids and what happens to them..
@miss mimi of-course no ivf!
he earns less than 5o riyals a month!
miracle miracle Ram Dev Baba's miracle
pardon my ignorance, can a 96 year old man still have a child of his "own"?
It doesn't mention it in this article, but his wife is in her late 50's. I'm shocked that they managed to conceive without IVF.
i remember a joke about an old guy having a baby to a very young lady. :)
Andropause - are they aware of the term?
Joy and sadness.
Whether he is the biological father or not is a moot point. The main issue is what the future holds for these children - especially when he passes on...
