From Pakistan
Assalam O Alaikum everyone,
I am from Pakistan visiting Qatar for few days. I am carrying with me some beautiful samples of traditional Pakistan dresses for ladies to show to any investor who is interested to open a retail shop here in Qatar. My samples are both stitched ready-to-wear & unstitched formals, semi-formals, casuals. Also a 2 pc original GUL Ahmed lawn priced at 70QR. So I would love to hear from anyone who wishes to do business with me or simply want to purchase for themselves.
Secondly, I am also carrying 1 box each of these famous SHAN recipes mix:
Qorma, Nihari, Biryani, Tandoori, Tikka, Haleem & chaat masala cheaper than in local market.
Someone here mentioned about some exhibitions in Qatar where one can rent a booth to display their products. Can any of you provide more info on that also like where exactly these exhibitions take place? I'm here for just another 20 days. So if currently, there is any exhibition going on there where I can acquire a space, please share.
Please feel free to send in any inquiries & information. To show samples, I can visit you or you can visit me whatever convenient.
Looking forward for good information.
Best wishes to all.
Look again this Reported guy again asking for the number ..........
I can purchase two - three dresses for my wife
@acchabaccha, I am not looking for a company to do any paper work for me. You misread me. I actually inquired which MINISTRY of Qatar will help me in obtaining a trade license to set up a home-based business. Can you or anyone else here tell me the name of that ministry? So I shall personally visit them to obtain a license. Don't need a company to do that. It's not such a difficult job only if I knew the name of the ministry to visit? I can do the paper work myself.
You understand me now?
I do not know as of now any company that helps in getting the paper work done for th setting up of a home-based business. But I believe there are a few and possibly you may get to hear from them.
I do not recall seeing any shops that sell Pakistani ladies clothes in retail in Doha. There was possibly one in Musheirab area but it closed down after some months of opening. Possibly, one of the reasons for its closure was non-availability of parking space near the outlet. The only place I know for sure where Pakistani girls work in Doha, are at the several Pakistani schools. Other than that, I have no knowledge but hopefully there may be.
Thanks acchabaccha. So far so good. Like the quiet & clean environment already. The culture is quite similar to UAE except UAE is too crowded & congested now. Would love to make Qatar my home for the love of beaches. Do you have any idea which ministery to approach for information on trade license to open a home-based business?
The contact details: Ohho, acchabaccha thanks for pointing out to that. I thought a serious investor may want to send me a message on this portal for my contact details. Regardless, here is my number: 33495788. [It's oreedoo (sp?). Very bad service as I'm not receiving SMSs. Lodged a complaint 30 hours ago but nothing has been done so far. Is vodaphone better).
As for business, are there any retail shops here in Qatar for Pakistani ladies fashion dresses? If Pakistani ladies living in Qatar find what they need right here in Qatar at good prices, they would buy from here itself instead of bringing from Pakistan (for any unexpected, sudden occasions or even everyday casuals). Hence, the point of opening a retail shop here.
SHAN recipe mix: Yes I saw LULU centre selling them at 3.75 QR. Mine are priced at 3QR each :) (But just 4-5 boxes for now)
Furthermore, I am also an MBA with 10+ years of work experience in UAE (was brought up & educated there). So would also consider any decent job opportunities available in Qatar for single Pakistani girls. Are there any Pakistani girls working & living in Qatar independently? Any info on that?
Welcome to Qatar and I hope you enjoy your stay here. Qatar is a lovely place and very different from your country. However, if your visit is purely for business purposes, you may not be that successful in achieving your target. There are several reasons to it:
First, most Pakistanis get meet their requirements of Shalwar Qameez from back home and bring along their requirements whenever they return from vacation. Secondly, the market is just too small hence the demand is not that much. Third, when it comes to Masala, Shan already has a local agent but unfortunately that agent is not very active. As such, Shan masalas are not seen at supermarkets or at baqalas. Ahmed and Mehran are easily available. They are equally good. Lastly, while posting at QL you overlooked a very special point: You did not provide your contact details should anyone wish to do business with you.
