Hello, I'm doing a research survey on Doha properties and i was wondering if anyone knows about the pearl. Does anyone know the estimated completion date? becuase i dont know if it is fully built and completed. Also, about the residential buildings like rent, or number of rooms in a building. Thnks!!!

My apartment was due to be handed over on Nov 1, 2008 and was actually handed over in June 2010. The apartment is very nice and the views great, but as it is in the middle of the Pearl the landscaping is not finished and the shops and restaurants not yet opened.

They are currently building real shops - like where you would go and buy your daily needs like milk, bread, etc as opposed to a Ferrari showroom - which are due to be opened next year which likely means 2012 or 2013 or, as Flan so rightly put it, after that close to the end of the world. It is coming on, but slowly.

As for the buildings, each are different designs, sizes and prices. They may look similar from the outside, but that is where the similarities end. If you want a price scale other than the ones quoted by the developers, try www.mycoreo.com

I remember you saying you were a teacher in the past so you need to go back to school and get a refund on the money you paid.

If you're doing research, then I doubt whether QL is the right place..

You should be hunting for official publications and talking to the companies themselves..

it is a fact that not only in Qatar it is happening but in the Gulf and other areas of the world too.

God knows when they will complete it. I know one project which they told to complete and open for public in August 2010. Now the latest update is February 2011 and I think it will delay further to mid 2011.

The Pearl is partially completed, Some towers are ready for occupancy impact some tenants is currently residing inside the pearl. some major works are still ongoing especially the road works and the general amenity of the pearl.

You can try to inquire inside the pearl in Porto Arabia such as in Parcel 4, 5, 11 & 14 these towers is absolutely ready for occupancy even though some minor works is ongoing. I know it by heart because I'm working here.. cheers ..................... I'm not a sales executive but im proud working in the pearl. .... lol ....

Ive been out there once and I saw maybe 8 shops open... the rest of the place looked like a construction site. They broke my balls about my car being dirty on the way in so I was thinking 'ok this should be pretty fancy', It wasnt.

i second what georgia said lol, maybe they set a completion date for a certain section of the pearl...apart from the restaurants (chocolate bar)high end fashion stores, high end car showrooms, luxury apartments/villas theres nothing much there....however after spending long hours in doha..a walk down the porto arabia isnt so bad but if i were to estimate maybe under 3-5 years? but thats just my opinion

with anything in qatar, you just take the estimated completion date and add a year or two on to it...
