Perfection vs meeting deadlines
I have often sacrificed perfection to finishing things within time limit. No matter how much I orgainize my time I cannot be perfect in my work (presentation with good looks and a smile) and finishing on time. So what may I ask is the right thing to do ? Should one bargain for more time or stick to the agenda ?
Alexa, as The Donald would say 'you're fired' !
I have to point out that I have a much much nicer hairstyle than Trumpie.
-------------------------------------
i was a perfectionist. And then i discovered torrents.
what kept ya? You're really late...
-------------------------------------
That depends on your perpsective. If you are a perfectionist, the right thing to do is to make it perfect. Hang the consequences.
-------------------------------------
perfection is overrated. even if you do something that's 100% perfect, but a day late, the consequences are a 100 times worse than something that's 80% perfect, but on time.
So perfection is not about attitude, or is it ? For instance try giving Shakespeare a deadline for his works or tell Mozart to create his composition overnight..
in normal routine day life what i learned with my experience that meeting the dead line is more important than perfection...
but if you are working on some special project then it can be vice versa like Taj Mehal...
.when it comes to work,
it is professional to make it on time.
.
Mom_me, in any project there are three main concerns: quality, time and costs. You will likely have a constraint in at least one of those areas. Therefore, you have to find a balance for all of them to be achieved within acceptable parameters.
A balance you say. Is that the reason why there are no Taj Mahals made anymore ? Or for that matter Picasso's.....
Perfection and time limits never go together. Perfection is the work of art just like a beautiful monument.
One should try and find a balance between the two. It also helps if you learn how to manage your time and to say no to unrealistic timelines.
