PG 13?

I recently watched Fast 5 (Fast and the Furious 5) in cinema, and i must say it's a nice movie and i enjoyed it, but to my surprise., i saw some group of kids, around 6 or 7 watching as well .. The movie is nice but i thought this was rated PG 13 for sequences of intense violence and action, sexual content and language. Is it safe for those group of kids to watch such movies? do they have movie ratings here or none?

brief-crossing : a french based movie is good to watch for kids under 15, they will learn techniques of how to make s*x with women double of their ages!

jayca, I am sure they will have some regulations, but there is no one here to enforce these regualtions. The issue here is enforcement!

Movie Ratings Board Regulations? Media Regulations Board? or Censors? or something like that... do they have it here? It's my first time to watch in cinema here (oh! 2nd time! :) so am not that sure if they have such regulations :)

They don't make their kids sit in seatbelts in the car, even to the point of endangering their lives, so why not take them and dump them at the movie theatre?

the weak try to get help and sympathy by showing violent scenes, while the strong wants to preserve his self image/ego and hide the scenes from news. did u see any injured from the 2001 attacks?

About ethnic Arabs, Ibn Khaldoun wrote in the Muqadimmah:

"The Arabs dominate only of the plains, because they are, by their savage nature, people of pillage and corruption."

No wonder, that violence is not censored.

As long as love scenes are deleted, it is ok for kids to watch no matter how violent and sick the images are.

I too am surprised by teh level of violence and gore that is deemed acceptable.. Perhaps , it si to do with the history and nomadic lifestyle of the region .

Sometimes I switch the TV on in the morning and flick through the channels. I am amazed by the blood and guts on at that time in the morning. In the UK at least we have watersheds. It would seem that in the ME the children are more familiar with this type of scene. And they are not going to see any sex, or hear any bad language because that will have been censored out... won't it?

They censor everything over here anyways :-(

I was watched "The Hangover" in the US, I wanted to watch it again and so I went for it over here, it sucked! :-(

The news on the BBC and Al Jazeera are also rated PG 18+ because of violence and disturbing images. However, who controls it?

Who will enforce this PG 13 classification? The Filipna at the Counter or the filipino or Indian Chap at the door?

Just a joke!

come on this is 2011 most of the kids are watching more that pg13 movies and may or may not do what its about. they living what the world provide now. plus their parents took them so i think they are ok with them watching it so i think you need not worry. its like you can prevent yours from watching and make yours obey all the rules but some parents are not like that. then again kids watching such has nothing to do with how they will turn out as adults so its ok. some kids brought up in a wel respected home turn out bad anyway.....its just depends on the kid and what he or she will learn from the movie.
