i hope your family and home are fine Janneeyy03. my brother's best friend lives in provident village in marikina. they lost everything they owned (and worked hard for) to ondoy and his father died of heartbreak a year later. we let his family stay at our house every time there are heavy rains.

Not about sorry here, My intention is very clear.

If you wish to donate, do it through the proper channel.

If you cannot rely on Phil.Embassy, opt for other reliable charity organisation.

I don't want to elaborate more on this. And i never said i rely on this personal request, neither did i doubt it.

We have Pinoy Ads Qatar in facebook, i am a (not so active) member, i am not pushing anyone to trust the group, but for charitable work they have already done a lot..

If you cannot rely on Phil.Embassy, how could you believe or rely this personal request for donation.

As a phil. yourself, if you don't believe your Embassy on charity works, i don't have anything to say.

All the best.

Gail Lara, Better contact your embassy, open a disaster relief bank account through the Embassy and share it with QL.

Any people who wishes to make a donation will obviously need to make sure that its going to the right hands.

Through your Embassy, it would be fast and reliable.

Your efforts are well appreciated.

I do agree with Wirehead, if your intention is to help, do not focus on your area only. You should be looking in Greater Manila Area. Cavite, compared to Marikina, Bataan etc is not that damaged. What I'm trying to say is, we should focus on helping out all the victims. NOt just the resident of your area. Yesterday as of 5:45pm PH time, the water in Marikina River is up at 19meters. Could you imagine the damage?

Back in 2010, we had the Give a Hand for Ondoy Victims in Dubai, all the donations were sent to Sagip Kapamilya of ABS-CBN. Not only in my area, Marikina.

I am not doubting your intention, it just have to be done properly.

i don't doubt her intentions. in my case, i prefer not to donate if the beneficiaries are a selected few when there are so much more in need of help so i normally donate to established organizations like the red cross and hope funds are used properly for everyone.

i will only try to extend help to a few people if it is very personal like friends and family. in this case i understand that it is very personal to gail lara so she wants to help the people in her province and i respect and admire her for that. i do have family in that area but i have friends and family in other areas affected by the floods too.

All, a very quick clarification from Gail's husband.

I am French, and I definitely understand your doubtful comments, as I would, myself, react in the same way. But my wife is like this: she believes in human beings and she sometimes do the things with her heart, forgetting that other individuals could think differently.

My comments would be;

1. if you want to participate to this funds raising to help people in need, simply meet my wife, and see if you trust her or not

2. If you don't want to help, just don't

3. we have prepared a flyer, and I will post it in my company where people know we do not need to claim money for fake reasons

4. we'll raise some money by ourselves anyway ...

Wirehead - my reason why Cavite only.. coz we don't have enough money to help to the whole Luzon or all the victims of Typhoon Maring .. if you could help thru Organization or other Foundations thank you so much ...

Janneeyy03 - Thanks for the Info and sorry to hear that your family is affected by Typhoon Maring .. hope they are safe as well ...

By the way my Husdband and I are not pushing anyone to give us some donations, we do have our own way of helping our kababayan...

I do agree with everyone's comments.. My house is in Marikina City, and we are badly affected by this Typhoon. But collecting donations for that matter will be very hard to do. It should be done by certified organization, not by individuals.

Anyhow, try to search in FB Pinoy Ads Qatar, we have 16,000 more or less members there, and the power of the group has been proven since 2011. It is founded by a certain Minda Obeidat, filipino muslim based here in Qatar. She had organized blood donations, different kinds of contributions, iftar drive and so on and so forth very effectively and transparently.

Go there and we will see.

God bless Philippines

why just people from cavite? the entire island of luzon, if not the whole country, was affected. i appreciate that you would like to help in your own way and i myself would also like to. but if you go public asking for help like this intending to provide only for a small area it sounds selfish and regionalistic.

I'm sorry but to believe someone on QL looking for money is foolish, even if they have pictures!

Thanks landloverreview ... I will try to ask Philippine Embassy as well

Rip Cord ... I know it's hard to believe with me coz i'm asking some help... if you will read again my post I mentioned also that I would take some photos to those who will give me donations and I would post all the photos here.. how much I will get and the money that we will spend for the Relief goods that we'll give to those typhoon victims... it's up to you anyway...

Keep up with the good work. Just take this as suggestion, if you can join with embassy or any local organization and promote your cause after their endorsement , you can reach a huge population. One riyal from one person could end up in millions.
