Povert ... Discrimination

This is a part of New Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights.
1. Do poor people in QL feel discriminated by fat elephants?
2. Are you discriminated upon for only being poor?

The Human rights Committee has drafted this principles to protect you the poor.

" Discrimination affecting persons living in extreme poverty must be PUNISHED as a violation of human rights. The stigmatization of the poor and their associations, groups, neighbourhoods or places of residence, and their representation as persons without rights who are dangerous, violent and display other negative characteristics, must be regarded as forms of DISCRIMINATION.
Discrimination against the poor based on their image, their dress, their physical appearance or any other grounds related to their situation of extreme poverty constitutes a human rights violation. The state, international agencies and other parties have an obligation to criticize and combat stigmatization of the poor and to promote a balanced and fair image of persons who are in a situation of extreme poverty".

Could QL adopt this principle and avoid discrimination on the ground of kind of cars, amount of pay or siza of villa they stay.???

Oh that is true qatarisun.

Sometime the renewed souq area police were turning away some poor fellow on fridays and thrusdays.

Last week Dasman shoping mall, the airport road branch also did the same thing but under the pretext for families only.

This is the kind of practice where one is discriminated just because he is poor or for his appealing or appaling appearance.

.. I don’t think it’s a pure discrimination when it comes to sharing accommodation. Even myself, for example, I would never live at the same flat or villa with certain nationalities, and not because I have something against these people, but for very simple reason, that I just cannot stand the smell of their food! It makes me physically sick! Other than that I am fine with everybody… May be for the same reason (or something like that) these nationalities want to stay within their communities. But of course I totally agree, when it come to Job ads, it never should be specified either the male or female needed (unless it involved heavy lifting or some other activities that only male/female can perform), or his/her nationality or age, or religion. This is obvious discrimination.

I heard (correct me if I am wrong), that even sometimes some poor looking people are not allowed into some Malls.. This is obvious discrimination.

Ok, living together with people from the same culture can be understood, but many times it's the same with job advertisements. It is really a discrimination, to choose for one position only from a given nationality, isn't it?

Do you think you are singled out and excluded from the rent service because you're poor.

I raised the issue of rent and discrimination before and people said its not discrimination but just desire to live with people of your culture and feeling of security.

In this country there is just to much discrimination, and where is human rights than? Everytime I see in job or apartment advertisements, like: wanted xy, only filippino/indians should apply or there is one right now: room for rent for filippino couples only without kids. Isn't it a discrimination?
