Please can someone tell me if there are any pre natal classes here in Qatar like we have back home in the UK...

Also i really need help on finding maternity clothes, ive tried the obvious ones like H&M and Mothercare but they have the smallest selection and the maternity clothes look like my grandmas wardrobe... Im also looking for good quality...

Lastly ive been trying to fing a baby doppler (baby heart rate moniter) everywhere and cant find one, does anyone know where they sell them here?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Says who Angelina? A doppler is just a way for expecting mums to hear their babies heartbeat, not rocket science :)

Also not advisable to use a doppler unless you are trained to do so!!

Vegas - The problem with me is im totally scared of giving birth lol and the more videos i watch on youtube the more i feel scared, but ur right there is alot of info on the net, guess ill just have to stick to that. Regarding the maternity clothes, i do need them, Ed was tiny before she got pregnant so shes probably just wearing plus size clothes, but that doesnt really work with me coz ive got a different body shape... curvey lol but my hubby just suprised me with, hes taking me london in 3 weeks so i can do my shopping lol thank god!

Hello, my wife is pregnant and has been looking for maternity clothes as well. The best looking things we've found so far were in Mamas and Papas. they also have some sort of sale on just now but it isn't advertised for some reason. You just go up and pay for the clothes and they take 50% off. I don't know if it's on everything though. We looked at the classes at Al Ahli Hospital as this is where we'll be having our baby, and the classes were about 200 Qr an hour for so many sessions (think there were about 6 or something like that).

If this is your first baby in Qatar, chose wisely where you have it! Apparently Hamad's maternity unit is awesome but your husband won't be allowed into the birth, which is a bit rubbish. He will be allowed in at Al Ahli though (I know it's pretty expensive but my wife would probably kill me if I didn't come in). One of my friends was also allowed in at Doha Clinic and they said it was good too.

Hope this is some help to you!

I have had friends who have had their babies here in both Al Ahli & Hamada and they have attended ante natel classes, so maybe you could contact the hospitals.

Clothing you can also find in Next, Zara & Debenhams all have a maternity range. Failing this you could order over the internet and use Aramex to deliver. The internet may also be the way to find a doppler machine?

Hope some of this helps.

Maternity clothes was an issue for me, too. But I managed to find some in H&M last year. You can also try Mamas & Papas in Villagio, but they also do not have the wide range. At least the models look more nice and better quality. Have a comfortable pregnancy.
