Well i went into this subject a month before i got my PS3 i compared the 2 consoles and it was quite hard. I was originally going to go for a 360 but then i heard about the hardware issues (Look up Red Ring Of Death!) and loud noises it makes and it put me off. The PS3 doesn't have these issues and it has blue ray which makes for a great home theatre system. There might not be that many games for it yet compared to the loads of titles for the Xbox but it is still quite new and has only been out a short while in Qatar. All in all its up to you to decide which you like and if you still want to do a bit of research there are loads of sites on the net here is a simple one for instance by Paul Thurrot who explains all three next gen consoles in detail with a graph at the end.

I have played the Xbox and it was fun and fast but I have read about problems with quality.
PS3 is good but not that many good games yet.
It can play most of your PS2 games,
has slots to plug directly in Memory Sticks from your camera,
has easily networked by wifi with our computer (sharing music and photos),
is a quality high definition Bluray disc movie player
was good for audio chat with a friend with a PS3
can be accessed remotely using my PSP.
