PULMONARY SCAR PROBLEMS!!!

I have a job offer in qatar and i will be living sometime next month. My problem is i have incurred a pulmonary tuberculosis last year and i was cleared by my doctor which is a pulmunary specialist after medications here in the philippines last may 2006. The stupid PTB disease leave a scar on my lungs. It was a minimal pulmunary scar in my right upper lungs. I have taken care of all the x-rays, as well as the dctor prescriptions and contact nos. to help me in my future employment especially abroad. My question is will that ptb scar can jepardize the job offer to me? Will qatar recognize that i have only scar and already healed from ptb? any one that can give me some advise and help?

I had TB 10 years ago but fully recovered. Before I came to Qatar I have done all the necessary medical check up and informed my employer regarding this. They accept it, because I am perfectly healthy, but when it comes to Qatar Medical Commission, it will be different story. To cut short, my medical status was unfit and my employer send me back to my home country. My honest opinion, if you had TB before, better don't risk leaving your current job as I think chances to work in Qatar are very slim.

After all the sweats and time processing all the needed documents just to prove that your OK but now still useless. Now im giving up the job offer to me!

To malen, try to talk wid ur agency or to ur employer. Discussed wid them that ur already ok. Because some employer accept that case. Im just unfortunate because my employer are so strict wid lung scarring.

Or ask for 2nd opinion.

Here's a link which i think could help you.

The clinic where i got my medical exam just said to me " You are not fitted in Qatar". I just get frustrated because they dont even give me some options or advised. Its just easy for them to say that youre not fit to work. They dont even think that you already waste your time and money.

Same situation with me. I already had a job offer Qatar. and i already finished my medical exam here in manila. Unfortunately, they find out that i have a scar but they said i dont have any diseases and im free from PTB.

But they unfit me to work.

What should i do? I really need the job offer.

Im planning right now to go to Lung Center to ask for clearance. Is that OK?

Please helped me.

Sabrina,

My Wife too has Old PTB scar from year 2002. She was treated back then and now she is completely cured. I have recently got a job in Qatar and would like to know what the possible ways to approach the medical commission to make her RP process smooth. FYI.... she is not going to work in Qatar.

Regards,

Mohd

There is one solution worked out Pray to Jesus Christ and believe for his blessings.Surely it will bring you the good result. If there is any bacterias or viruses in your body all will dissappear. So the blood test and cough test and ppt test will give you good result. And you will become medically fit for the job in qatar.Pls pass this to everybody who affecting the same situation.I am very late to pass this information to everybody.Lord Jesus Christ please forgive me....And help me in all my ways again...please protect me....I am not able to overcome all the problems affecting to my life...pls protect me....Amen.

Hi Sabrina, I have the same problem with my wife due to an old scar on her lungs during her childhood. I sponsored her last month to visit Qatar. What are the procedures in order to get an approval or no objection from medical commission if they notice the scar? do they honor private clinic certification?

I also asked a pulmonary expert in the Philippines & Radiologist and they all agreed that the scar is permanent & non-reactive. Anyway she only stays at home & im the one working.

Best Regards!

yup. but if they required me to take medications again i will not abide coz i really dont have the disease anymore. Also the PTB meds can coz liver disease if taken excessively. Are those qatar medical commission doctors a lung specialists? Why cant they recognized the active tb from scar? I just told it with my employer already and yes before i go to qatar i get health certificate here in the philippines and make it certified by their embassy here in the philipines. My employer by the way is alfardan hope they will help with it. This is ridiculous.by the way i will bring all the xray films to prove that i undergone medications. thanks..

My husband was exposed to TB 10 years ago and had old scars, and the medical commission freaked out a bit. At first, they wanted to just deport him. I fought it. He is not the one working, so he was not deported. However, they required him to take 6 months worth of TB medicine.

Be prepared that your visa may be rejected. Definitely get everything as certified as possible - make sure to get it certified by the Qatari embassy in your country. This apparently holds more weight. It will also depend on who your sponsor is...if they are connected, it won't be a problem. If they are not, it can be a problem.

Good luck!

Over here the medical check is done based on blood and chest X-ray, if your scaring is negligible then you have a good chance of getting away with it, if not and it is noticed then you can be rejected, although maybe if you explain it to them with all the documents you have they will make an exception.

One thing here in qatar is that all the Good doctors have been kicked out of the Government Medical Service. So you are left with all the crappy ones who get jobs cause they know arabic or they got it through qatarization and the Asian nurses here know better. You do not have a choice as far as expertise goes so might have a little trouble trying to get your point across since but Hey never say die....

Good luck to you, make sure you get reports certifying that you are completely free of the condition and it is certified by acceptable health authorities in your country. Get a certified doctor list from the Qatar Embassy in you country, and get it certified by them....
