Qatar Airways-Excellence in Customer service

I would like to share my experience in flying in Qatar Airways.
I was returning from my home town after a short vacation and I forgot to collect my mobile from the security screening machine before boarding the Doha bound QA flight from Chennai.
Only when the flight started moving on the runway, I realised my mistake.
I just mentally prepared myself to write off the mobile and the simcard, but was feeling bad as all my contacts were in the memory of the mobile and sim.
I reached Doha in the morning and informed my wife at my home country about the loss of mobile at the airport.
I told my wife to call chennai airport and find out if they have located any mobile left in the screening m/c.
To my surpirse, she confirmed that my moble has been located in the airport and I have to lodge a complaint through Qatar Airways.
The same evening I went to the "Lost and Found" dept at the airport and lodged a formal complaint.
After a couple of days, I got a call from Qatar airways to collect the mobile from them, which they arranged to get it forwarded to Doha.
I am delighted by the service rendered by Qatar airways, especially, the attitude of the people at the lost and found department. Every time I called them, they answered very patiently and were very kind to me. Also, I received another call the next day from them to confirm that if I have received my mobile.
I think they really set high standards in customer service.
HATS OFF to them.

Scarlett I wouldn't blame BA for lost luggage in South Africa - particularly if you went through Jo'burg. Baggage handlers there are renowned for doing a bit of shopping in cases - locked or not locked!

When it comes to the in-flight service, I do prefer QA instead of British airways.

British airways stewards, they act like a bunch of bullies getting ready for a game of rugby!

At least in QA, I'm please with the view of the beauties and service.

Yes, BA has flat beds in Business and non-stop to IAD and BWI. AND JFK and EWR and PHL and BOS. I figure if one gets screwed up my chances of getting to the US are pretty good.

I just flew from Washington to Doha and the flight attendants could not do enough to accommodate it was really a great flight, but business class, if only they had flat beds they would be the best for sure.

Nice to hear as I am flying Qatar airways very soon. Actually, we don't have problem with the Inflight services, economy or Business but the ground handling staff, even in Doha is not very impressive. I was let on by Qatar airways Bangkok with assurance of transit visa on arrival in Doha only to find out no telex was sent and the Transfer desk staff was over way too awful. I wrote a complaint, never got a reply.

airways carries cattle inside now? I thought they always did! Business class came with its own live chicken..one per seat, so you have fresh eggs.(you know I am pulling your chain, charan...)

now now, the problem you are having is that Louis Vuitton is so passe...

You should hire a someone to carry your clothing and articles in their own hands so as not to crush or wrinkle your clothes...goodness gracious man...you obviously don't travel much...

service to BA, but the beds in BA are MUCH more comfortable. QA's make me feel like I am sliding into the cockpit area, feet first!

The thing that has me a bit ticked off with BA is the time I flew to South Africa, they lost a piece of my luggage, and when it arrived two weeks later, several items were missing out of it. It had been locked and at the time, NO carry on luggage was allowed at all in the cabin area. BA customer service department does not have a human that you can talk to, only email...to which they never would reply, so I never got reimbursed for the items.

Your experience would NEVER have happened if QA did what i ask them to do - remove economy altogether and replace it with shag pile carpets for we TOP people to store our Louis Vuitton luggage sets without any damage. Lets put it this way - my Louis Vuitton Valise cost a damn sight more than an ECO ticket and therefore should get far better treatment. Hic !Yippee, Yippeee, its GORDONS gin for me!

Hi Scarlett, we're British Air also. I really like the cabin crews and the frequent flyer program allows my husband and myself to combine our miles with no penalty. Last year my husband's luggage was "lost" for a day coming to Doha and they sent him $200 by way of compensation! Not too shabby. Next time I have a problem I will certainly write. 20,000 miles is a one-way upgrade to Business.

watching those wing bolts jiggle up and down in the wings can be a bit unnerving during the flight.

Flew that ONE time, business class, and the experience was much less impressive than QA coach!!!!

BA is ok...hubby just got back from a flight with them, they ran 4 hours late from Houston, so he missed his connection in London, had to have his travel agent rebook to get him into Doha before today, and they did. When he wrote to BA complaining about not letting the passengers know of how LONG the delay would be, they gave him 20,000 FF miles...not bad, but certainly doesn't do anything for the amount of stress he had to put up with when worrying if he'd make a very important meeting this morning!
