Qatar Streets Maze

Hi All,

I wish i could just see the Genius who planned the streets in Qatar, as i really need to see the person who had the enough talent to create such so many mazes in one city !!

It's very usual in Doha to find 10s of streets in one area with Dead-Ends, and if you were enough unlucky to get off any main road you might find yourself in a closed circuit that might take 10 minutes or more to get out of it.

I really don't know what those people were thinking when planning an area streets with multiple streets with dead-ends that really look both Ugly and Stubid. I think Qatar should think again about the streets design and planning if they really need to win the 2022 Bid.

Hi All,

Thanks for your comments. Actually this subject sometimes drives me crazy. One time, i was trying to reach our company in the Westbay and when i entered the street i found some construction work and the street is closed with a sign saying "Street is closed, Please go Left" so i went left as the sign is saying and Guess What !! i found a closed circuit with a diameter of about 20 meters ONLY, so you can keep round and round and enjoy the circle !!

Another Example, my home is in Duhail and the street is intercepting with Al-Shamaal "North" Road but unfortunatelly with a Dead-End !! So if i need to reach Al-Shamaal "North" Road, i have to go to Landmark first then to the Tunnel and take right again to the road !!

Didn't anybody thought one day that this mess can cause much time loss when time is critical (Fire, Ambulance trying to reach a critical condition, etc...) !!

Only noms said it right: all streets are built so that you cannot escape the police. Sooner or later you end up before a wall, and then they'll get you. It's a very clever design!!

Carlitos,

LOL...that proves my point, they should have stopped, take a break and smoked some, so their brains would be re-circuited before jumping into the next step ;)

the problem here is that they go to fast...lol

not very sure about that...

By the way if you want a brilliant example go to the back of AL SADD stadium, they build a nice mini compound (16 villas) but they just forget to build an access, when they realized that an other compound was started to be builded where the only access could be placed.... HEHEHEHE

carlitos,

if they had it here, they would be more relaxed and not so impulsive, producing better results ;)
