Qatar Vs. Ivory Coast

Hi everyone,
Watched the Qatar vs. Ivory Coast football match at Al Sadd football stadium. Went mainly to see Drogba play. He should be carrying some latent injury (he had a series of injuries by the end of last season) and seemed to play safe, though he lost his cool at the end of the first half and promptly picked up a yellow. His trademark touches didn't turn any heads today, but the deft miss to let someone else pick the ball was first class. The audience gasped in disbelief. Amazing stuff.

Qatar played their hearts out. In fact it should have gone 1-up in less than a couple of minutes. The shot hit the sidebar! No 22 played really well. It's a pity the Qatar Football Association website is 100% Arabic. I couldn't pick up any names! Unbelievable in this age of the Internet.

At the outset it wasn't a match at all. Ivory Coast created a few upsets last world cup. It has 4 guys playing high in the EPL. That should say it all. But at the end Qatar got that elusive goal and made everyone proud.

Ivory Coast won 5-1.

Cheers.

Qatar did indeed play their little hearts out.

I am mighty proud of them

Techdoctor - the QFA are so disorganised

- no info in English

- venues and kos regularly changed

- they dont' answer the phone

- they give out incorrect info

the relationship btw fan and player is v important and all QFA does is undermine both parties.

They are shamefully shambolic

are a massively under-rated team. Almost all the team play at top clubs in England or France. Its no disgrace getting walloped by them. As a Chelsea fan im fully aware how good Drogba can be, he can also look like a complete donkey. ( Today was more of a donkey performance.) Kalou, another Chelsea striker(No 8), played very well tonight though. Fully enjoyed it and was pleased to see Qatar get a consolation goal near the end. ( even if it was offside!!lol)

Sitting in Monaco, i heard that it ewas 6-1, and it WAS 6-1. hehe.

I missed seeing Drogba play too. But man, you wrote beautifully and it gave me the entire mood of the match. Well written!

I left the ground about 5-10 minutes to whistle so as not to get caught in the traffic. Looks like the elephants scored one more!

Dude what was the score 5-1 or 6-1. All other websites are stating 6-1.

Updated the post with the score. Reminds me of a reporter who wired his first post of a boxing match, only to receive a reply from the editor: Next time please also write who won the bout!

Cheers.
