Qatari student jailed in UK for fraud

I know this topic has been discussed before on QL and I don't post this to rehash old discussions. Rather, firstly I wanted to congratulate the Peninsula for reporting the story(such a better Paper than the GT, although why no letters page?).
But secondly, to ask the question 'why did the paper not mention the convicted man's name?' The court reports often mention the names in the GT, but there seems to be an embargo on such when it concerns Qatari citizens. I know his name because it is reported in the UK press and was mentioned in the previous post in QL.

Btw - he got two years in prison

No - he entered on a Student visa then claimed asylum.

He's applied for asylum because he's got bad advice. He could enter the country directly on Tier 1 (Investor) visa with an investment of £1,000,000.

I think I should put my services on the market.

Why would a Qatari apply for asylum in UK? UK border agnecy should have done a better job than throwing money at him.

I was focusing on the second point you mentioned. As I said in the OP the details of the case have been discussed before and I have no wish to go over them again.

If you want to discuss the criminal, then this has been discussed on QL, but if You want to point out print media of Qatar for not mentioning his name, then i must say either Yellow journalism or the editor didn't give a damn fcuk to the name.
