QDC could learn from the Swedes !

Here’s a wheeze of an idea… I’m sure it can catch on here..

Sweden’s state-run liquor store monopoly Systembolaget announced on Friday that it would be trialing delivery to customers’ work places.

“It’s no surprise to see there’s been quite a lot of interest so far,” said Lennart Agén, spokesman of Systembolaget .

The idea is that office-bound Swedes will be able to make an order for their drinks from the comfort of their workplace for only a small surcharge.

If the chain suspects any foul play with people re-selling their booze, Systembolaget is also prepared to take action.
“If we suspect illicit alcohol sales we have the right to take back the goods,” Agén said.

britexpat...there is a difference (atleast to me) to see the thing in person than how it appears on a paper. Reviews, yes I can read about the taste etc but still would buy only after I have seen it physically. It is a different feeling. But for that instance as QDCLover has mentioned when the party is on and the stock is running out the said service (if only it is round the clock) would be helpful..:)

alien _guest... any staff in particular whom you like there at QDC...;)

but in Iran & Saudi, you need to hire a very good "risk management" office to assist you

They have this service in Iran and Saudi.....

This would be a great idea and would relieve the traffic on Salwa Road therefore benefiting all of Doha's residents.

It would be great for me after having 10 beers and running out I could order some to be delievered so the party continues.

An online catalogue serves the same purpose..

Would you use this service if available ?

More importantly, would you be able to control yourself , so that you don't open the merchandise at work :O)

oh those Swedes....sigh...

they remind me of that case in QF where 2 colleagues went to QDC during lunch hour, to buy some alcohol.

They went in one car, bought the bottles, came back to their offices in QF, the guy driving the car parked near his colleague's car, opened the trunk, the colleague started shifting his bottles to his car, somebody saw them, reported the "alcohol at work" incident, and they were both terminated from work.

It is actually fun to shop at QDC, to see things around and try (buy) names which I would have not tasted before specially the wines.
