QG Housing

Recently, my husband got a job offer at QatarGas. However, we don't want to live in Al Khor, might be a bit boring there and we have not seen the place yet. What's the rule for QG accomodation? Can we have it in Doha?

Theoretically those who are directly related to the operation and maintenance of facilities should be located in Al Khor. However, shortage of housing causes some ops and maint. personnel located in Doha and they take daily buses to Ras Laffan. Also, in the last few months there has been movement of personnel from Ras Laffan Office to Doha Office, primarily for the non-operation related personnel i.e. HR, Finance/Accounting.It has caused some personnel still stay in Al Khor with office in Doha. Housing Dept is working on it now. In addition I understand that now housing matters for RasGas and Qatargas are taken care by RasGas (meaning Housing manager is from RG with his responsibility to cover both RG and QG).

If you work in Ras Laffan you might still be able to live in Doha provided that you are not in critical operation-related function, or housing availability issue in Al Khor help you move out to Doha, or you insist to live in Doha for very valid and justifiable reasons.

If you're husband will be Doha-based, then you can request for a housing here in Doha. But if he will be working in, let's say, Ras Laffan, then I think Al Khor is the only choice. I'm not sure about this though.

Been to the Al Khor community lots of times and I love it and maybe you and your family might love it too. What I love about the place is the cheap food at Al Nakheel, Dahkira and Waha club. :)

i think it is ok if you wanna live in doha .. there are many QG accomodations that is based in doha .. villas .. flats .. but it depends where your husband is going to be working doha or raslaffan .. and his grade that he is offered.
