Quality

What has happened to the quality of topics discussed in the last six months.
From what I can see it has gone through the floor and degenerated to the equivelent of a teenage chat forum.

most members in qatar living do not consider the quality of topic but how to attract a quantity of posters with their threads...

this thread is an example that does not attract stupid followers........

This is nothing new. You can look back through the history of QL and find similar threads from years ago.

Is QL dying... What's wrong with QL.... Has QL reached a new low....etc etc etc

Totally agree with HGL, most topics have been exhausted.

But QL is what you make it. If you want to see interesting posts, um...post something interesting?

Buncha whiners :-p

The standard of intelligent debate is somewhat limited on this site. Looking back at old threads it seems a number of people have voluntarily removed themselves from QL, mainly due to the unreasonable behaviour of some members who want to stifle debate and dictate what can and cannot be said.

Keith.. first of all thanks for a sobre response, quite unfamiliar on QL (since I have been on QL)...:)

I think earlier when this web site started it was new and people got a platform to interact with the people who are very much in the same place i.e. Doha, they found some plac i.e. QL to get to know each other and so there were many things which seemed new to discuss and discuss at length about living in Qatar and in the process get to know each other (now this is just my assumption based on the bits and pieces of posts of some QLers as I have not read any of the old threads).... now seems everything one wants to know is already in the history pages of QL forum topics, so there is nothing much fruitful or engrossing to discuss and may be thats why even though some of the old timers did feel bad about the quality of topics couldnt come up with anything of quality to discuss...

BTW one thing that amazes me is the same Qlers who complain of denegration of QL could also be found in the same chat room mode, as you mentioned, on some threads...just open a few threads in the past few days and you will know...

I believe the forum "Living Lounge" is a place where you may post anything...be it something philosphical, childish, funny or whatever.

For posting serious threads...there are other forums available...Living Lounge is for having fun...isn't it?

So you have your answer already, earlier discussions were of more quality because earlier all the members were more intelligent than new members. Why ask the question when you have the answer all along?

This has been raised many times in last couple or so months....and I suggested to all those who raised this issue to come up with something sensible or of quality as they expect....still waiting for anyone of them to post one such "quality" thread so far...now can I ask you to make that start...:)
