I think the QUBE would be better without the bands.Or the band can play until 0:00am, and from 0:00 am till the end, it would be better to have a DJ playing, because most people going out and coming at the QUBE want to dance on DJ music as in a disco club. You can also notice that each the DJ plays,we can see many people dancing but if the band comes back, many of them stop dancing and go to seat.
I have nothing against the band, but if I decide to go out, I prefer to have a DJ playing.
Its certainly the biggest place in town and sad though it makes me feel probably the best.
It is big and has a cavernous feel, it does lack atmosphere because when the band are on they have the lights up too high.
There are plasmas all around the room, some behind the bars. When I was there the plasmas were showing the band on stage filmed by a static camera.
When the band came off "briefly" the lights went down the laser came on and you could imagine that with a good DJ the place could be truely awesome.
I am not sure of the persistance of having bands on everywhere is this a part of Qatari Law ??.
This club is certainly the best place here right now and with a few tweaks, lighting, seating positions and DJs it actually could be excellent.
I am glad to see the trend in Doha of having the Clubs seperate from the hotel, ala Pearl and now Qube.
Single guys can get in and its 60 riyals Thursday night but that includes two drinks.
Male to female ration was around 70-30. I saw someone get dragged out by the bouncers, I think it was a guy touching up some of the girls. I doubt the Police were called they certainly don't want the hassle on their first thursday night.
I have just arrived and went to Qube on its opening night. The place is ok but why do they insist on putting so many tables & chairs out and hiring dodgy chinese caberet dancers. It would be vastly improved by having a bigger dancefloor and palying qaulity house music. If this is the best that Doha has to offer then we're in trouble.
thanks mate, i'm not even supposed to talk to a manc, but what the hell...anyway, i'm not that familiar with the clubs over here so you'll have to excuse me.....
If I understood your question correctly, they do allow guys in on their own. I wasn't part of a couple when I walked in. Then again, Ramada guests get free entry so... but I'm sure it doesn't make a difference.
HEY SK sorry to ask u this i knoww it has nothing to do with the subject, but this is the only way to contact u, anyway i noticed that ur a consultant, which company and what kind of consultant?
I haven't been to any other clubs/bars here so I have nothing local to compare this to. I was just ok. The venue is huge and I discovered when I got home that the QR30 entry fee includes your first beverage. The bars aren't particularly efficient so be prepared to wait a while for drinks. There is what looks like a VIP area upstairs which seems to enjoy a balcony view of the stage and revellers below. Looks good. The decor is basic, but effective in emphasising how capacious the room is. The one drawback though.. the band. They were awful.. but I guess after a few beers, its less the music, and more the scantily clad dancers on stage who the punters respond to.
Ramada guests needn't queue, and ID is required. Casual is the dress code.

To sum up, a step in the right direction.

...anybody who supports a team with 'arse' in both it, and its managers name deserves a little compassionate leeway.
Bring it on biatch! :-)
